I was the original poster. Sorry I deleted everything, but it was turning south - looke like there is more confirmation coming out though.

Look, I wasn't trying to gain internet credibility points, I was posting a story on a board that I knew would confirm or deny it in a hurry.

But for the few of you that decided it would be okay to attack me over it, I like for my arse to be kissed on the left cheek.

if you do get some kind of confirmation please link it. just seems like there is some sort of cover up happening if it is as bad as it is laid out to be and the only source so far is the family.

I totally understand why you deleted it. I just saw that people were actually posting things to disprove the story, that actually made it more plausible. I don't know if something happened or not, but the bottom line is, people are assuming a lot of things that aren't necessarily the way things work. For instance the whole why did they go to a hospital 75 miles away. I'm no EMT but I was in a bad car accident when I was a kid, and I had to ride in the ambulance with the driver of the other car while my mom and brother rode in the other. I was stable with no major injuries, there was a question about my neck, and they took me to the hospital of my parents choice. The other guy needed surgery so they took him to the closest hospital. So I would assume, and maybe falsely, that if this gentleman was in stable condition, they would ask him or the family where to take him.

I know no details. Friend of a friend posting on Facebook - the original post told the story that was being told and had a copy and paste of the wife's facebook status.

My only explanation is that if unless I had life threatening injuries, if my pregnant wife gets thrown on the ground, we're getting her checked out by whomever she wants to go to - her regular OB/GYN probably.

It sounds like he just got beat up, he's going to have to have some facial surgery to repair a couple of things, etc. But my first priority is my wife and unborn child in that situation as well.

There's no friggin cover up, the Facebook posts by the family prompted the post on here, not the other way around. If it turns out to be fabricated, then Marcus needs his arse kicked again, but let me point out the facts that we know:

1. A Mississippi State poster with no axe to grind against LSU or West Virginia posted a story and a copy and paste from Facebook that indicated that there was an incident Saturday night postgame. Did not say it was in Morgantown. The FB posts indicate that it was fandom related though.

2. The post on Tigerdroppings prompted mass searches, which indicated that similar postings occurred on other boards. Whether you believe me or not, I didn't make those posts - there were other people that got the same e-mail. Those posts are still up.

3. An LSU fan comes on here and confirms that he knows the family and its true.

4. Another LSU fan finds out he works for the same company and offers to find out more Monday.

5. Someone posts a screenshot of the guys Facebook wall that indicates that something has happened that has prompted a series of "Prayers sent" posts to his wall.

6. Someone posts a link to a Facebook post where his mother is trying to get the story out as well so these punks can be caught.

Like I said, I hope something like this really didn't happen, but it seems that there are three possibilities:

1. Its completely made up and an elaborate scheme to make WVU fans look bad after their team took a 20+ pounding (Stories like this usually pop up after a WVU win to take the attention off of said win)

2. Something happened to the guy, and the entire family thought it'd be funny to spread vicious lies on Facebook about how it happened.

or
3. The guy got pulled from a car by WVU fans and beat to a pulp.

Everything you said is right on, you took a few liberties in your telling of the story and that is what we were trying to clear up.

just because of recent events in recent LSU past...
4. MM trying to be a hard arse gets out of the car and starts shite because his window got broken. Starts a fight, gets beat, gets the frick out of town without filing a police report because he is in the wrong. Friends drive him back to Pitt and check him into a hospital.

With what we know any of these possibilities still exist.

Please show me anywhere that I said this didn't happen. I said that the OP put a story out with tons of holes in it and when it started getting questioned he deleted every post. This is the first time I have seen this kind of story left up without any proof needed. Friend of a friend of a friend type shot is never allowed anywhere but the OT.

As far as saying it was the guys fault it was just another probability based on the limited info given. Guess Im a moron because I didn't follow the story blindly and asked a few questions.

McChowderMD,
Had I known you were actually Dr Quinn Medicine Woman masquerading as some know-it-all with internet access, I would have kept to my lurking, as there is no need for any of my silly, experience-based, surgically-refined, ruminations when Johnny CIS is on the case.
Please provide your contact information so that I may call you today for expert consult should I encounter any problems as I operate.

no reason to start a debate. It happened unfortunately. Just pissed me off that people are questioning the story when they should be thinking about the guy and his wife.

Yes, because we should all immediately believe everything we read on the internet without further confirmation other than an anonymous poster on a message board. You're an idiot.

I'm sorry, I have no idea what happened, but this is very vague and may not even be the same incident.
