I honestly did not expect us to be world beaters by any stretch of the imagination. My biggest concern is that we don't seem to be getting any better. A little forward progress would go a long way in making me feel better.

I expected us to have a little bit of the suck this year, but not to this magnitude.

This. As I sat in JHS Saturday, I was reminded of how I felt in 2008 after we beat UT, that the team is a total clusterfrick.

So it's gone from "Cam can't run it" to "Only Cam can run it"? And how Malzahn's offense won't fly in the SEC?

At least wait and see how Frazier does before throwing him out the window. He's looked good so far (given, he's hardly played. But still...).

the read option part of Malzhan's offense didn't really get put in until halftime of the SC-AU game last year when Gus figured out Cam's strength after a 70 yard run. Cam's size & speed were unique to all allow him get by the defensive linemen who were the only players that had a chance to solo tackle. I don't think Barrett Trotter can't do it effectively against a SEC defense. He's got to drop back & throw, or hand off to Dyer. The Wildcat may give some read option threat, but it doesn't have the same passing threat you got w/ Cam. I don't know who's behind Trotter, but you need more than a running QB. We completely shut down Russell Wilson a couple years ago because he's nothing like Cam. Our defensive should be better than MSU and Clemson, but not near what's you see against LSU & Bama.

No kidding... At least this was somewhat expected. IMO 2008 hurt so bad because it was so out of nowhere.

The UT game is a great call. We were sitting at 4-1 but we all knew we were fricked.

I agree, Trotter can't run it and hasn't been. But I wouldn't say no other QB can run it.

Kiehl Frazier, who has been put in a couple times and looks like he'll get the job done.

Keihl Frazier will eventually be the read-option QB we need.

I wish Chizik would at a minimum be honest when discussing the current state of the defense.

"Chizik also said he likes all his coaches, and that means defensive coordinator Ted Roof."

"You know, the ideas on defense are not revolutionary, everybody basically does the same thing," Chizik said. "Ted does a good job of running our defense. We understand we have deficiencies, obviously, I'm involved there just like I'm involved with the offense and the special teams as well. But again, I've got great coaches."

If he's involved, then why the hell can't our guys play the ball. If everybody does basically the same thing then why the frick do our players act like they are double amputees.
