Why do Bama fans who call in sports talk radio have to end their stupid point by saying "roll tide"?

Most people who call in to these sports shows in the South have low IQs to begin with. Whenever a fan gets done making a point (usually a bad one), the only way to relieve the awkward tension is by saying something like "Roll Tide."

THIS. The low IQ callers give themselves away immediately by saying "Pawl" two or more times in the first 30 seconds of their call.

You could follow up a brilliant statement about decoding the human genome and follow it with "roll tide" and the whole message sounds stupid. Saying roll tide after another statement, is like farting loudly as an exclamation to any other statement or action...in select company, it's alright, maybe even appreciated. In most company though, it is not appreciated, stinks, and pretty much puts a trash stamp on your forehead.

"Hey Pawl, thanks for taking my call Pawl. How are you today, Pawl?"
:awkward pause:
Paul makes some little comment about his day, blah blah blah.
"Great, Pawl. What I wanted to talk about was (insert random Alabama related topic that has been beaten to death the past three days on the Finebaum show) ......"
PF begins talking over the caller, this goes on for a few seconds...

What a stupid post. The same reason AU fans end theirs with War Eagle and LSU fans Go Tigers...

Because "Roll Tide" is universal for hello and goodbye - very much like aloha.

Because they are a bunch of redneck hillbilly idiots who have nothing better to do but call in radio shows and worship Midgets.

The same reason Catholics genuflect and Muslims bow to Mecca.
