I was led to believe that LSU was actually the Fighting Tigers. I'm not an LSU fan so I can't confirm this.

You'll have to get a subpoena if you want any LSU fan yo answer that question at this moment. We're pleading the Fifth.

Technically and more appropriately we are the "fighting tigers" of LSU.

Auburn has always had an identity issue. They should just be the "plainsmen", or war eagles. In fact, the only thing cool about auburn is that eagle.

The only Tigers, huh? When people mention Tigers, they think LSU? Did this occur to you while necro-humping an alligator in the swamp with gumbo smeared all over your face and Hoff? Has it also occurred to you that this is not an accurate polling sample?

LSU fans:If you were asked to sign a petition to be called the Bayou Bengals or Bengals, would you sign it?

The answer to these was pretty obvious. A better question would be this:

LSU and AUBURN fans, would you sign a petition agreeing that whichever team wins more of the next 9 head-to-head meetings get sole rights to the name "tigers" while the loser has to change theirs?

I would. Nutt up or shut up!

This is not even close to a good comparison

Tigers =/= War Eagles

Tigers = Bayou Bengals = Bengals = Bengal/Siberian Mix = Big fricking cat with stripes on it

Auburn just needs to make up their mind

Tigers? War Eagles? Plainsmen? Cheaters? Sister frickers?

It's all the same....just pick one dammit!
