I'm bored, need a little entertainment. Hope we win em all, of course, and predictions subject to change.

9-3...what does this mean for Richt?
3 losses, one of which was to Florida and one in the national spotlight to Boise. This is the scenario that's most intriguing in my opinion.
10-2 or better and he stays. 8-4 or worse and he's gone.
9-3 and wins SECE, he stays.
9-3 with losses to SC, UT, and UF, he's gone.
9-3 w/ a loss to Tech, depends. Wins SECE, he stays. Other two losses are to Boise and SC, he stays.

8 or more wins and he's safe IMO.

Any rationale for these predictions?
I mean, you have an SEC team that's capable of winning 9 games (your prediction) losing to Boise State in Atlanta. You can beat South Carolina's most talented team of all time. You'll go to Ole Miss and win - no problem there - but then you get Miss State at home and lose.
You can go to Knoxville and win, lose to Florida, and beat Auburn.
Any thoughts to back this up?

I picked them as my surprise team. Good thing I didn't elaborate.

I'm getting tired of seeing UGA fans being "objective" and predicting a loss to Boise in their own state. Man up and beat those frickers. We are the SEC and you represent us. Boise has never beaten an SEC team and they are not going to. How can I cheer for UGA in that game if their own fans don't even think they will win?

I think yall win against Boise St. They had trouble with VA Tech. Va Tech kept it close with them till the end and I think a SEC defense can stop them IMO.

Essentially, I feel that UGA is going to be one-dimensional on offense unless Crowell is the next superstar freshman RB.
Therefore, any team with a decent front line and a decent pass rush is going to decimate their offense.
I think the UGA defense and ST will be strong and keep games close in general. I think they walk into a shite storm in knoxville and get stomped there. UT will be 3-1 or 4-0 depending on how good/bad Florida is. They will be healthy and rested, coming off a bye and a game against Buffalo, having played 1 SEC team total and 2 BCS teams. UGA will have played BSU, 4 sec teams, and 6 games straight and will be hurting.
SC and UF losses will be very close. UGA fans will be asking what-if again at the end of the season.

UGA starts off 0-2 and the grumbling in the state of Georgia is heard throughout the land.
They win 3 in a row and unhappiness is still prevalent, but the grumbling subsides a bit.
Then they lose to Tennessee and Richt is photographed running through downtown Athens with his pants on fire.
The loss to UF finishes him off.
The despondent bullpups play out the string, losing to Auburn and Ga Tech and Richt collects his multi-million severance check walking out the door.
Todd Grantham is seen walking out the door with tears flowing down his cheeks blaming everyone else but himself for his lack of coaching ability.
Kirby Smart is hired as the next UGA head coach and immediately hires Mike Bobo to run his offense.
6-6

UGA has to win this game. Do not let your SEC brethren down.
UGA is somewhat of an unknown this season. I can see them winning the East though. First two games are uber important.

See 3 L's ... Close call on Richt ... SEC record is 5-3 but your W's are against the absolute "bottom 5" in the conference ... better not slip up & lose any OOC game; there is ZERO room for error.

Pretty much my view as well. Pretty hard to fire a coach with a winning season but considering CMR's record vs Florida and our easy schedule, I think Richt has to go at least 8-4 including a win over Florida to get a contract extension. His current contract extends through 2013 so he would still have one more year to turn things around. If it doesn't happen he will be looking for greener pastures because no coach wants to be working in the last year of his contract.

9-3 or 10-2.
Statistically speaking, and putting aside irrelevant nonsense like "Mark Richt is a moron" - we were an 8.1-3.9 pythag last year. We lose Green but return a good amount elsewhere, get a QB in his 2nd year, and get an easier schedule. Barring the unforeseen disaster (e.g. Murray tearing an ACL right before the season), the most likely worst case scenario isn't very far below an 8.0-4.0 pythag. We could get an extremely rare rash of bad luck and once again end up at .500 (2 SDevs of pythag-actual differentials = .170 of win %, fwiw), but again, pretty unlikely.
I'm guessing we see a slight improvement to something around 8.5-3.5 (.708) and get a decent but not statistically impossible bit of luck on top of that to end up at 10-2 (.833). The latter of course is the homer in me speaking, so most likely we go 8-4 or 9-3, imho.
I'll say:
Boaisy - W (in a squeaker - despite my arguments last week)
SC - L
Coastal - W
Mississippi - W
Miss St - L
Tennessee - W (very, very close game)
Vandy - W
Phlarda - W
NM St. - W
Auburn - W
Kentucky - W
Jackettes - W
Tennessee and MSU could be subject to the vice versa.
2nd in the East and beat up on a legend or a leader in the Cap One Bowl.

USCe is going to take UGA to the woodshed.
Georgia's schedule is very favorable though...They could possibly win the East.

7-5, Richt out the door. Skip Holtz is the choice to succeed him, after Skip has an 8-4 season in his second year at USF.
