How many more chances will 'Bama have to win the NC with Saban as HC?

'Bama enters the 2011 season LOADED on defense. This team, IMO, resembles the 2009 team a lot. They will have a dominant run offense, with a stout, smothering defense. I can't see Saban and McElwain letting McCarron or Sims go out there and try to win any game with their arm. EX: McElroy in his first season. However, I just can't see them winning the NC this season with the SECw being as tough as it will be.. 'Bama also lost Julio, Dareus, McElroy, and Ingram. Say what you want, but the only one that will be easy to replace is Ingram, and only because Trent Richardson is the running back.. It wouldn't surprise me to see 'Bama go undefeated, but I can't see it. 2-3 losses, IMO..
Having said that, is this the last chance Saban will have at a NC? We obviously don't know how long he will stay at 'Bama.. It just seems like he's been there for so long.
After this season, 'Bama could possibly lose the following players:
Defense
1.) Dont'a Hightower
2.) Josh Chapman
3.) Nick Gentry
4.) Jerrell Harris
5.) Courtney Upshaw
6.) Nico Johnson
7.) Dre Kirkpatrick
8.) Phelon Jones
9.) DeQuan Menzie
10.) Mark Barron
11.) Robert Lester
12.) Will Lowery
13.) Chris Jordan
Offense
14.) Darius Hanks
15.) Brandon Gibson
16.) William Vlachos
17.) Alfred McCullough
18.) Brad Smelley
19.) Marquis Maze
20.) Trent Richardson
21.) Barret Jones
That's 16 projected starts for next season..
I say 'Bama will be able to contend for a NC in 2013.. Maybe not that soon, maybe 2014.. They have had plenty of great recruiting classes though, so they won't be as bad as Auburn IF they lose all of the players above..

Every year he is there. We will always be in the top 10 preseason.

2012 will certainly be a drop off.
If we don't win at least 10 games in the regular season this year I think the season will be a let down.

I think 'Bama winning 10 games is a given.. 2-3 losses at most. The defense will be hard as hell to score on

Doubt yall are Top 10 preseason next year. Losing almost all your starters depending on which Juniors go to the draft

I think this year will be a good year. NC is a definite possibility considering how good the defense SHOULD BE.

Yeah, I fully expect Alabama to win the SEC this year

You guys are definitely contenders even with a green QB. Just have to avoid an early loss and you'll be a legit contender.
If he doesn't win it all this year he may not win another at Bama. Not with the way the SEC is changing.

It will certainly be tough for him to contend again.. Very tough. I can't see him staying at 'Bama much longer, just my opinion though..

I think this year may be Saban's last hoorah! If he won the NC this year, it wouldn't surprise me to see him ride off in the sunset. Bama will always be a NC contender as long as Saban is there IMO.

I can see him there for up to 5 more years.. but.. UF won't be down for long. UGA has another stud at QB. Tenn will be back. Auburn is recruiting very well. Petrino at Arkansas is very dangerous. LSU is back where they should be. South Carolina found some mojo..
I mean the SEC is going to eat itself alive at this rate. 2 loss SEC champions will become common.

yall have a great shot this year. I can see the LSU/Bama winner playing OU for all the marbles.

I actually agree with this. Hopefully the BCS doesn't hold it against the SEC.

Even if they do, I still think we dominate others conference teams in bowl games...

I think you have to take a one or a two loss conference champion from a major conference over a two loss SEC winner tbh. Regardless of how tough the conference is. I'd absolutely let an undefeated TCU/Boise St (provided they played decent competition) in over a 2 loss SEC champ. Combine that with the recent trend of big time OOC games.. ouch.
I'm fairly certain that the streak ends this year or next and that it won't continue. We're in the golden age when it comes to talent and play but we won't see the trophies flowing like they have been.

The battle for Second place in the west will never have a better match than that?
