We were prety bad in 09 and Bama was the best team in the nation and it was a 5 point game. I don't think we'll be seeing any Iron Bowl blowouts either way again anytime soon

yep he should be good for another 700 yards again this season.

He did split the backfield with a Heisman winner and 1st round NFL draft pick last I checked. Nevermind his 1,600 yards of total yardage in 2010.

I hear this "because its a rivalry game it will be close" all the time. So why didn't the rivalry save Auburn's arse in 08?

The fact is the odds are pretty favorable that Bama wipes the floor with Auburn this year and I think most reasonable Auburn fans know it.

Because AU was in shambles and absolutely sucked arse

No, the odds are favorable that Bama wins. I find myself to be a reasonable AU fan and I just don't see Bama "wiping the floor" with AU in JHS. I think Bama wins by 10 or 14 or so, but no blowout

Alabama won't be wiping the floor with Auburn. Period. They will more than likely win, however

I realize you guys have "talent," but you don't think returning only 6 starters and having to field essentially a team full of soph and frosh isn't going to be comparable? You say you don't see Bama wiping the floor with Auburn. I say I do. At this point all we're going to have is speculation and opinion so tbh that's about as far as this is going to get for now.

I understand your point. If AU and Bama played earlier in the season I might agree with you. But by the last game, all the new starters will have played a whole season, so I feel like we'll be playing better by then. We'll just have to wait, the season's a long way away

I saw TR his sr year in hs. Looked a lot like Emmett. This year he could be UofA's 1st back to run and catch for 1,000 yds. He is that good.
Wish he was at LSU.

Another variable that's being overlooked a lot (probably because the degree of its effects aren't really apparent until around mid season at least) is the lack of that extra week of rest before the Iron Bowl. Bye week advantages aren't as concrete as some other variables but in a year where the opponent has an obvious depth advantage, I can see how it could play a factor in the game.

Just sayin.

He won't be splitting carries with Ingram so his yards should go up nicely. With that said, Bama has two green QB's so every team they play is going to load the box trying to stop the run and make the noobie qb's beat them. Good read though I say he gets 1000 yeards this year.

1k is the minimum. I bet he sits around 1350

2008 was an aberration, not a norm. It was the most lopsided win in the past 40+ years.

It's amazing how one game out of 69 has skewed the entire history of the series for bama fans. No matter how bad either team is, it has always been a fairly close game.

I mean 01 was pretty bad too (31-7). Good edit adding the 40+ years part. But the fact is Bama has man handled Auburn several times in the series. More than Auburn has done to Bama as a matter of fact. It happens man. Its not just "one game out of 69."

I think on the pro lvl, regulation of PED/AAS is dumb. For the NCAA however, the kids are in a dangerous transition phase hormonally to be messing with their endocrine systems like that. And I get the "keeping it a lvl playing field" argument by trying to keep PEDs and AAS out of the picture. There's honestly some valid points to either side IMO.

Peterson didn't have too much trouble tackling TR last year.

I really think TR has over lifted and lost some of his quickness that he had in '09. He is more of an FB now and I am sure the NFL can't wait to get him after next year becuase he is made for the league. It will be interesting to see how he does this year but he is a very good player.
