When I was in Alabama, I had a pistol registered in my name with a pistol permit.

When you fill out a pistol permit, you have to list a pistol. Probably what he means. It's not registered per say..

Once you have the permit though, you may carry any pistol concealed, it's not just for the one you had to list.

If by registered you mean ownership or reciept of sale is kept on file, they most certainly are............just not by the government. It is required by the feds however, that the gun store keep records for so many years. How do you think they are able to run the serial numbers and trace them to gun stores from which they can determine who the gun was sold to?

This . In Alabama there is no gun registration. Closest thing there is is on the ccw form and those are voluntary. The registration part alone makes this whole story bull shite.
