I think Croyle is a good pick. Prob the most gifted quarterback we've had in my lifetime (since mid 80s). He didn't have alot around him and was handicapped by the coach but when healthy, he could make any pass. Obviously this is assuming he isnt already hurt before this game winning drive.

David Greene. That dude made several throws to lead us to last minute victories. 2nd would be Eric Zeier.

Archie was good, but his son's were better. Eli broke all of Archie's records at Ole Miss.

Not exactly Peyton Manning wasnt know for his great late game drives. That is Casey Clausen's legacy. Someone could easily say him.

Whatever dude, Peyton Manning was EASILY the best QB to ever come from Tenner. It's not even debatable. If I had a choice between one final play with Peyton and 3 final plays with Clausen, I would take Peyton, and so would most sane people.

really?? wow. yeah, i was fairly young. i was 11 in 92' when we won it all. so my memory is admittedly weak about that.

That was his sophomore year. He became a significantly better passer by his senior year.

who was he up against for the award?

Heath Shuler was probably the biggest name (the award is for senior quarterbacks only) He was a first round draft pick.

yet for all of his strength in passing, he managed 4 whole passes/ completions in the NC game vs Miami.

<not that he really ever had to throw... for any reason. our D was suffocating and our running game was smoking>
