I'll never forget my freshman year taking a leak at the Hump before a game and Jack bellies up next to me at the urinal with a Camel Light hanging off his lip. He says "How are you doing young man?" It was like somebody came down off of MSU's Mount Rushmore to grab a quick cig before the game and piss next to me. I was speechless.

One of his alleged quotes I remember reading (unconfirmed): "Well, LSU has put in their 3rd string... that should about even the playing field."

I miss them too. Being a Mississippi State fan, a lot of our TV games in the 90's were JP games.

I here there was a Jack Cristil roast a few years back and Ron Polk was pretty funny. They sold dvds, but I don't know how or if you still can get one.

I miss Jefferson Pilot. Dave Neal was a pretty good announcer

[quote]The correct phrase is "You can wrap this one up in Maroon and White" Jack Cristil could paint a picture on the radio that could explain what was happening on a football field for a nine year old boy that had never seen a live game. There will never be another like him.
