He always interviewed my dad back in the 70's when he played for Tupelo High.

He's a legend that I fully respect.

Have thoroughly enjoyed listening to JC over the years. Grew up in MS and listened to the State broadcast of many an LSU/State game. He is the class all the way and his years in broadcasting speak for themselves.

Thanks for the memories Mr. Cristil. You will be missed.

I have NEVER been a Miss State fan but that man could call a ball game. It is like you are there when he is calling the game. He is a class act and will be missed by alot of folks. Thank you Mr. Cristil

Jack's farewell address last night brought a tear to my eye. I know that he wishes he could call MSU games until the day he dies, but he knows that his health is more important. God Bless Jack Cristil and take care of him in this tough time for him in his life.

Jack's radio broadcasts have been one of things besides the actual ballgames ,like tailgaiting, etc, that makes the SEC so special.

He'll be missed. What a remarkable announcer.

Damn, he was the last of the legendary old-school college football PBP guys from my long-ago youth: Forney at Bama, John Ward at UT, Ferguson at LSU, and of course Munson at UGa.

Cristil was never as polished as some of the above, but he ALWAYS told it like it was, frequently to devastatingly funny effect. And thanks to his trusty egg timer, you were never more than 3 minutes away from hearing the score.

So long Jack, take care of yourself, and thanks for the memories.

The correct phrase is "You can wrap this one up in Maroon and White"

Jack Cristil has called football games on the radio for Mississippi 58 of the 85 years that Mississippi has even had radio stations (not even sure how many of those 85 years MSU had broadcasts over the air)

A true legend. I don't even like State but I know greatness when I hear it.

Best wishes...and farewell.
