quote:

"The University of Alabama is glad that the individual responsible for damaging the trees will be held accountable," wrote Alabama spokesperson Deborah Lane in an e-mail. "The individual who was arrested has never attended the University of Alabama and has never been a season ticket-holder. He is not affiliated with the university in any way."

They claim the sidewalkers when they're setting A-Day attendance records and throw them to the wolves when they break the law.

Haha i saw that too...

so by that logic:
1) if you never attended school
2) and never held season tickets

then you are not affiliated or accepted by alabama

that cuts out a HUGE chunk

This is just politicking, no different than when the Russians catch a U.S. spy and we say "I've never seen that man before in ym life!"

That is as good a PR move as waiting to release the story about the little trees until the sports media starts reporting that your shady program is once again under the microscope not 3 months removed from another incident

They didn't say he wasn't a fan. They just said, truthfully, that he isn't affiliated with UA

Do you think all 80,000 plus at JH are alums? This is the kind of thing that makes the rest of us dislike Auburn fans. There are no AU "sidewalk fans"? Wow. I'm truly sorry about the trees, but it was done by one person. The University of Alabama can't control a nutcase who wants to do something creepy like this.

this is public relations damage control. It's not the UA's fault this loser roots for them.

true.

this whole thing shows a -lot- of peoples' idiocy. seriously, there are so many generalizations and blanket statements being made that even I am sickened.

All AU Fans are degreed individuals, making in excess of 250K per year. Also we all drive the latest model of luxury car, eat at the finest restaurants, and live in 10,000 square foot plus homes.

So frick you, you poor cockwrangler.
