Students are on spring break, but since I'm on spring break, too, I'm leaving for Tuscaloosa tomorrow! Sure wish the guys could have made the NCAA, but I'm thrilled to be able to see them at Coleman as the number one seed. I, for one, care about the NIT . . . because we're in it! Beats last year, for sure!
ROLL TIDE!!!

re: Will oversigning be Nick Saban's biggest contribution to college football?

My husband played ball at UA in the 70's. His scholarship was one-year renewable just like everyone else's and we all knew it. Some didn't get to keep it past a year. Most who didn't keep theirs were given another option that would pay for college. This isn't new. It makes perfect sense to me. Why reward someone who is not doing his best for the program?

Juuuulio!!!! I LOVE that his "Momma" named him that!! We love that young man . . what a great team player . . . "I'll punt if they want me to." Always there with great blocking and wanting to win for the team . . not just get a reception. It's been so much fun. Almost cried at the Capital One Bowl when we all got to say it one last time. Don't worry . . . some pro fans will enjoy it, too!! Roll Tide!

Do you think all 80,000 plus at JH are alums? This is the kind of thing that makes the rest of us dislike Auburn fans. There are no AU "sidewalk fans"? Wow. I'm truly sorry about the trees, but it was done by one person. The University of Alabama can't control a nutcase who wants to do something creepy like this.

Even though I've had so many pictures of those trees e-mailed and texted to me over the years after Iron Bowl losses and hated them, I know that 99% of true UA fans think this is disgusting. I feel sorry for AU fans about their loss. It's also inviting someone equally ignorant to reciprocate in some way. Why don't we just stick to t-shirts?

I also resent AU fans making fun of our love for Coach Bryant. If they had a coach like him in their history, maybe they could understand how we feel. I think other fan bases get it. We wear houndstooth because he is a symbol of UA. He's a legend . . . not just in Tuscaloosa, not just in Alabama. I don't worship our coaches, but I respect them greatly. I agree on the hypocrisy of AU fans, also. We've never changed our cheer for anyone (Ex. War Cam Eagle).
AU fans' academic arrogance is so, so misplaced. UA and AU are only separated by a few numbers in most rankings . . . UA is ahead as many times as AU is. I'm a Bama alum, but married an AU grad. My son grew up as an AU fan, but after a trip to Tuscaloosa for Boys State, he completely changed his mind. I had to make him go to E-Day at Auburn for an engineering school visit. He had academic scholarship offers from both schools, but never really considered AU. He's seen both sides and he knows who has quality academics AND class and who likes to act like they have more class and intelligence. I love The University of Alabama, but I don't think my love for my school is any more special than someone else's love for theirs. Auburn people think their love is "special" . . . . no, not so much. RTR!

UT in Bryant Denny, 2009
We were standing and cheering the entire game. I never thought we were going to lose the game even as Lincoln was about to kick . . . and then Mount Cody!! I only thought we were being loud as they lined up . . . the whole stadium went crazy. I've never been hugged by so many people I didn't know. My sister from Tennessee was there with me . . . Priceless!!!
