LSU only 5 out of state recruits
Bama only 5 instate recruits
Don't get me wrong, Kudos to Saban and Bama for another stellar class. But, it will be very interesting to see how these two classes pan out for our programs over the next couple of years. Me, I love the homegrown boys!!

i agree but also there wasnt too much talent in alabama this year

Alabama usually has 60% or better of in-state recruits. It just didn't in 2011. It will be quite the opposite in 2012.

Outside of "it just is", why is it so "big"? Good is good. Explain more, OP

I'm just glad we don't have to compete with AU for most of our recruits....i'm sure bama will get most of who they want, but it AU is not going to make it easy for you this year

That's definitely part of it. Plus LA has more players year in and year out.
Next year will be a top year for the state of Alabama but LA will probably still have more players in the top 150.
And like you said, it doesn't hurt that LSU is competing against Tulane and the directional schools.

I think it can be a big difference. Not so much in athleticism... I think players who are homegrown, die hard fans of the school they go to since the day they were born can benefit the program in other ways... as far as helping with the family atomosphere Miles wants to create, leadership qualities of players and the overall comradarie of a team that comes along with that. I enjoy how we are locking down our state and this class will just motivate our instate kids to stay home and be part of this program even more. I sure as hell don't have to deal with a Cyrus K, Calloway, Region situation like you guys and i'll take it ;-) Larry Wilson is doing an OUTSTANDING job

Auburn is now dominating Alabama in state recruiting. I guess you can say Auburn has run Bama out of it's own state.

Sure thing. This is completely laughable. There were 10 SEC caliber guys in the state in 2011. I guess Alabama's enternal ownage of in-state recruiting was ended with the 2011 class. Nevermind the connections Rose, Dismukes, or Florience had to Auburn.

You are an idiot who once again has no clue what the hell he's talking about. Enjoy getting outrecruited again by Alabama despite having zero in-state competition.

this is stupid on so many levels that I realize I would be wasting my time to explain it to you.

Bama has not had one class in the last 3 years be better than ours.....we are not being out recruited. Maybe rivals makes you feel all warm and fuzy inside with all those points and stars that glitter so brightly to your bammers....you know when we hit the field you better work your asses off or you will get beat. Same goes for us

Out of state kids have a greater tendency to transfer or drop out when things get tough.
Alabama has long had its roster made up of 40-50% out-of-state kids. It just changed from 2001-2006 when Alabama had a more difficult time attracting top players, because of coaching changes and probabtion.
