You just named three different positions from three different branches of service genius. Just because you work out everyday doesn't mean shite, I am better off now then when I left bootcamp. If you end up being worth anything in the military then 5 years from now you would want to kick your arse right now.

Well up until you do, you shouldn't comment. Hopefully one day, you'll get to spend your Thanksgiving and Christmas at a FOB in Afghanistan. Or in a deserted New Orleans. Speaking from experience, I can tell you that it's not enjoyable.

I have also spent many holidays in a foreign land, foxhole, bunker, sleeping bag, etc.. Thanks to all who have, and still serve our great nation! The greatest thing about all of you is that you weren't forced to do it. And for Dixie, when you grow up, and if you serve proudly and properly, you will find a lump in your throat, and a tear in your eye when you read a poem like this that so properly honors the ones who protect freedom. I wish you well, and hopefully, you will join a proud family of humble veterans.

My young General made it home this Christmas. And he brought a young lady. And she's almost got a Phd. And she's conservative and drives a sensible car. Woohoo!

Here's to all the guys and gals who are having a turkey slice MRE today.

Ironically, after I saw this thread last night, I was walking to my barracks I saw an LSU flag being flown at my FOB.
