Question: The Difference Between Ole Miss and State Fans

State fans, I want serious answers here. I'm not trying to start a pissing match.
Y'all love Dan Mullen, and rightfully so. But my theory is that y'all love Mullen because he talks shite about and beats Ole Miss, and that's about it. I say that because, outside of Ole Miss, his record in the SEC is 5-9 (with ZERO wins against any SEC West schools outside of Ole Miss) and his recruiting hasn't been any better than Nutt's and, until this season, wasn't that much better than Croom's.
So the question comes in here: would y'all still love Dan Mullen as much had he not won the Egg Bowl (this last one or both)? On the converse of that, I posit that Ole Miss fans would still be pretty fricking pissed at our coaching staff even had they won both Egg Bowls.

It's very plausible.

Mullen brought in the 22nd ranked class in 2009 and has gone 5-1 vs. the SEC East, 6-2 vs. OOC opponents, is 8-4 in the 2nd year of rebuilding, and 13-11 overall. yeah, your post makes sense.

I'm pretty happy with 8-4 this season, considering we were 4-8 in 2008 and 5-7 in 2009. The trend is improving and that's what matters.
