it's "official". We'll play the SMU/UCF winner Anybody got any recommendations for some good BBQ joints? Things to do on/around Beale street? Can't say I'm too pumped, but it beats no bowl...I guess.

Memphis: Good BBQ, crappy everything else.
I liked Rendezvous and BBQ Shop ribs the best. For Brisket, I prefer Central.

I've always had poor experiences at Rendezvous, honestly. Tough meat and rude wait staff.
I prefer the Blues City Cafe on Beale, Jim Neely's Interstate BBQ, and the Commissary all more than the Rendezvous for barbecue.

Everyone will have favorites in the BBQ wars, but my personal fave is The Commisary in Germantown.

Memphis ain't all that bad, although the Liberty Bowl ain't much of a stadium. You should do the Rendezvous and go with the dry ribs. Tasty stuff and a fun place.

Rendezvous for Ribs/BBQ
Beale Street, order a walk-me-down and try finishing the damn thing without throwing up

definitely the best.
BBQ shop is the tits.
Sorry about having to play in the Liberty Bowl though.
There will be about 50 C-USA fans there.
They did redo their tailgating area. It's exponentially nicer than in years past.

Memphis makes South Atlanta look like a nice safe suburb.

I'll expand the "don't get shot" thing. Go where you are supposed to go...and no where else. The main parts of Memphis aren't really that bad, but just off the beaten path it can get bad in a hurry. Don't look at a map and determine your own shortcut through town, in other words.

I like Commissary for pulled pork, but everything else was subpar. I only like the ribs at Rendezvous, nothing else. It's obviously touristy which is a downfall. To each his own, I guess.
I can't stand Corky's. Never made it to Interstate, but have heard good things about it.

THIS. Plus it is away from downtown, thus safer and less crowded

BBQ Shop destroys commissary.
