I hope he's playing a big fricking joke, but apparently he told a few players he's declaring for the draft. He also said something of the same effect on his facebook, but I haven't seen it for myself nor do I wish to see it.

Best receiver on the team, imo.

ETA: If he wants to raise his (possibly non-existent) draft status, he'll stick around next year.

He is a good receiver, but this class will be way to deep for him to go in the top 3 rounds.

That doesn't sound like a joke to me. From my limited time watching him, he seems like a legit NFL prospect right now.

Well he is smart. He wants money and is a good player. Just think you can't make money in the NCAA, well unless your Cam Newton . Sorry. But your right that would be a big loss for Bama. Especially when you know that Julio is gone.

One less medical Saban has to give next year.

I think he'll be like Jacoby Ford, he'll be reached on in the draft because he runs a 4.3 at the combine. Good talent, needs a little polish.

Julio said last week that he'd stay if he wasn't a top five pick (something I highly doubt he will stick to). There is no way Maze will get drafted high enough to merit leaving school, if he's drafted at all.

If Maze actually said this, its a huge mistake, IMHO.

Well Julio would have to declare for the draft. I don't think he understands that there is a great amount of time for the time you have to declare and the actual draft. So for him to say that is dumb. Any projections are just speculation. Look at Tebow. He shouldn't have gone first round but he did. You just never know.

FWIW It's also been said that Maze really really really doesn't like class...

Maze isn't even the second best receiver on this team. Hanks will be Alabama's #1 WR next year. Maybe he's just tired of the running the same old predictable routes in McElwain's offense but that doesn't mean turning pro is the answer.

question...why does Maze and Barron have the same number? I didnt think that was legal within the rules.

Really?

Lots of teams have players with the same number as long as they aren't on the field at the same time.

You can have duplicates in college as long as they aren't on the field at the same tiume...

What a terrible opinion. He sees single coverage all day due to Julio. Maze is nothing as a #1 receiver.

You're allowed to have the same number if one's on defense and the other on offense.
