What do you say? Vote.

If pay-for-play allegations against Cam Newton's father are confirmed, the NCAA/SEC should:
a. Do nothing until after the 2010 season when the full investigation is completed.
b. Declare Cam ineligible but allow AU to play in the SECCG.
c. Declare Cam ineligible and not allow AU to play in the SECCG.
What do you say? Vote.

Chicken....come on. This is an LSU website.

If he is ineligible now, then he has been ineligible all season. That's how I see it anyhow.

Chicken, as an Auburn Alum and fan I think the best thing to do is get ALL the facts before making a decision. Most of votes are knee jerk reactions.. Due dilegence should do its process before people make judgements. LOVE THE SITE!

If this wasn't such a critical player to their team, I'd agree.
The fact that Cam is THE reason they beat LSU and several other teams, you most certainly can punish that team.
Without Cam, they are not an SEC championship team.

fact that this was reported to the SEC well before the season and most schools like UNC UGA and Bama have just this year sat players as a precaution(star players as well) makes me have no sympathy for Auburn.

Exactly. Hell, Saban suspended four starters (I think 4) the night before the Tenn game in 07 because of textbook violations.

but I am not sure I would want to do that to the entire team
Sounds like Cam might not be the only one on the team who got anything. I know nothing and all is hear-say but If one believes Cam got something then it is not out of the realm of possibility that others did receive something, too. Not flaming, just really, REALLY curious in what happens next.

Not taking away wins from the entire team/university would be a spit inthe eye of every team that hasn't been caught with an ineligible player!

Trying to get all the facts may take several months if not years (as in the Reggie Bush case).
There could be findings in the investigation that could trigger interim action by the NCAA/SEC and, thereby, serve the greater good.
If the NCAA/SEC has strong evidence at this point that Cecil Newton participated in a pay-for-play scheme at any school, it would be a travesty for college football if interim action was not taken to at least declare Cam ineligible and, possibly, strip AU of the SEC West Championship.

To vote the second option (b) over the third option (c) would be like penalizing the players of teams that got here fairly (LSU & Arkansas)
