Coach Urban Meyer expects to get Florida back to the "elite level," and he plans to have offensive coordinator Steve Addazio along for the rebuilding project. Meyer said Monday he has no plans to fire or demote Addazio, whose lackluster offense and underachieving offensive line are receiving the brunt of the blame for the program's first three-game losing streak at home in more than two decades.

Crossing my fingers and hoping Miles does not follow Meyer's lead and retain the leader of our 96th ranked offense.

Not a good trend:
quote:

In 2007, Florida averaged 38.1 points and 436.5 yards a game in conference play. In 2008, scoring increased to 44.9 points while yards dropped slightly to 429 yards a game. With Tim Tebow returning for his senior season and Addazio taking over the offense in 2009, the Gators averaged 27.6 points and 375 yards. Although the points are about the same this season, yards are down more than 20 a game.

And it gets better:
quote:

And what surely will sound like fingernails across a chalkboard for many Florida fans, Brantley insisted Monday he will return for his senior season. He said all the rumors and speculation that he will transfer are false. Although Meyer said the spread scheme has to have a dynamic quarterback to be effective, he said Brantley - who has three touchdown passes and seven interceptions the last seven games - will start Saturday against Appalachian State.

They can forget about my donation to the program if this comes to fruition. I'll get season tickets again, but will just sell them. I'm not going to fly to Florida every week to watch our downy OC run a shitty show.

F my life! I read the whole article and I truly believe Urban will change his mind especially if the lose to florida state for the first time in seven years. If he doesnt change his mind Jeremy Folley will get rid of Addazio himself

As a booster I will not stand for this horseshite. I am firing off a letter to Foley and the UAA first thing in the AM. If Urban wants to tie himself to that sandbag he just might sink himself.

Either Meyer is off his meds or this is coach speak. I believe Addazio will move on after the bowl game.

I agree and Meyer is just to good of a coach to let some a-hole like Addazio ruin his legacy

Apparently Addazio is a sacred cow to Meyer. They have forged a deep bond from when they were both assistants on the same staff at Notre Dame in the 90s...Meyer was WR coach and Addazio was TE coach. There is no separating them.

Just coach speak. You can't really say he's fired until the season's over.

Minimum, UF is losing 3 coaches this year, if Meyer doesn't just retire.

Loeffler, Addazzio, and Durkin are all goners for sure.

Is the Gator fan base pretty much united in their hatred of Addazio?
