:With All Due Respect Auburn (a lesson in (un)masked agendas):

...You were NEVER going to remain #1 this week.
Now hear (..or read) me out before assumptions...read my post history if you think this is going to shape up to be an attack on Auburn. I am an SEC fan and increasingly an Auburn fan. I did not go to Auburn but have been to MANY games including the SC and Arky games this year...as well as many other SEC games with different teams throughout the conference.
I played for Army for 2 years before being deployed to Iraq in 2005. I currently work in the media though I won't say where or in what capacity because, well, it just isn't important...other than I know how the media "machine" (and it IS a DISGUSTING machine) works.
There...now we can all be friends...on with the post.
As aforementioned above, barring a miraculous victory by USC (was never gonna happen) this weekend, Auburn would not stay at #1 in the BCS.
The Bloviating Queef Missiles (here's looking at you ESPN/ABC/Disney), in vast majority, picked Auburn to get beat as an "upset" this weekend in Oxford Mississippi (or Mississipi for you Alabama season ticket holders). This was both hopeful projection and an attempt to stimulate more ratings on an ever shrinking parent company's assets (here's looking at you ESPN/ABC/Disney).
Fast forward one great run from the line of scrimmage on the second play of the game by the home team in the Sons of Confederate Veterans uniforms, and you witness a 3 touchdown plus 2 point margin of victory (yes fellow ranters..my math is correct) by the invaders in blue...on the road...in the SEC..west...completely laughing in the face of the (again) aforementioned missiles de queef.
Fast forward again..this time 2 hours (or negative one hour if you are flying to the left coast) and you witness an eerily similar score (in fact only a +1 net victory by Oregon when compared to the score in Oxford)by a (no doubt talented) Ducks team over another unrated team who is 2-3 in the PAC 10 (who will also be sitting out the bowl season).
Fast forward one mo' again...and this "+1" team, who appeared on said "parent" station in prime time (here's looking at you ESPN/ABC/Disney)suddenly overcomes a rather large 2nd place deficit in the BCS to gain a comfortable first place lead.
One company has a monopoly on the BCS standings...oh, and the National Championship Game (here's looking at you ESP....frick it, you get the point), sealed with a kiss and a multi-million dollar deal over the span of (at least) a decade.
Well, what better way to stir up ratings and controversy on a struggling monopoly than to put the "prettiest" and least knowledgeable arse burrowing hamsters in starched clothes in front of the newest HD cameras and have them mumble incoherently over each other for an hour every Sunday at 20:15 eastern time.
At roughly 6 minutes into this episode of General Douchepital, Jessie 'The Body' Ventpalmer exclaims (when justifying his placement of The Boise Blueballers), as if his life depends on it, "Forget strength of schedule...it means absolutely nothing.."
At roughly 9 minutes into this exercise in brilliance the same beauty queen proclaims (when discussing Utah's ranking), "It is hard to justify Utah's strength of schedule"
Auburn, according to El Bachelor-o, you are too inconsistent. You should have beat the Runnin' Rebel Black Bears only by 3 on the road instead of your 20, as in your previous road games (in the name of consistency). At this point you have to, of course, ignore the annoying fact that prior to the Mississippi game Auburn had beaten every other team in the SEC west, save Alabama, who are ALL ranked in ADDITION to the ranked team in the driver's seat in the SEC east..those are just facts...so they are not permissible in intelligent discussion in 2010.
This continues for the rest of the hour as the (slightly more..VERY slightly more) testosterone infused version of "The View" continues to babble inconsistent, contradictory and incoherent statements as only "experts" (and politicians) know how to do.
I will stop here for tonight. But I will return (sorry). Is there a grand conspiracy? Not EXACTLY. Is there a desired outcome that is influenced by (more than) obvious sources for (more than) obvious reasons..... well...obviously.
Get your individual hamster wheels sprinting in the head folks. I promise to continue my rant (with actual facts) tommorrow..whether you like it or not. The "man" is not 'out to get' YOU....they are out to get only what they want...the most money and, more importantly, the most monopolized power they can get..
stay tuned..."bout to bring the heat shawdy.." (or whatever it is you urbanly enhanced kids say these days)
And if you need "Cliff's notes" for this. Frick you..this discussion is definitely not for you.

You know, I don't really give a frick.
What I give a frick is ESPN Talking Crack Heads talking out of both sides of their mouth.
Strength of Schedule is important.
Strength of Schedule is NOT important for non-AQ teams.
Auburn hasn't proven anything because they've only beaten teams like MSU by 3 and LSU is overrated.
bammer has a great chance to move back up in the BCS because of the strength of their remaining schedule (which... errrrr... is counting on the strength of remaining opponents like MSU and LSU).
fricking morons.

I completely take Auburn's side in the BCS discussion... but I haven't heard any criticism of their LSU win?
Where did you hear that? ESPNU???

WTF. Do you really believe all this shite? Oregon jumped us because USCw>OM, and the human polls love Oregon.

Yes. These are the things that idiots like Herby, Chris Fowler, and The Bachelor were saying on the ESPN BCS Show tonight (on primary ESPN, not ESPNU).

Has a #1 team from an AQ conference ever been jumped this late in the season by another team who played similar level of opponents.
It doesn`t make sense that the only reason we dropped is because USC>Ole Miss. Granted USC is more talented, but both of them suck. I`d also like to point out how USC snuck back into the top 25 (no. 22) the week Oregon plays them.
Its kind of funny that the college football home page on ESPN is now a story about the strong possibility of a one loss Bama team going to the NCG.

All we have to do is win and we`ll get there. The polls are just there to hype games and give the media something to talk about. IMO they shouldn`t have preseason polls or polls until the 3rd-4th game of the season. Yeah the BCS doesn`t come out till later, but the coaches and ap have a strong pull on it.

ESPN has said ever since we beat LSU how overrated that team is...its complete horseshite...even tonight on the BCS show they repeated that

I don't think LSU was getting much respect before they played aub.

Let's not forget Nike's affiliation with Oregon and how many millions does nike give to Espn.

Face the facts here, it doesnt make a frick if we are one or two in BCS poll this week. All that matters is winning the next four games for us and they can't keep us out, best case scenario for Boise State if we win out is that they get the liberal douche bag vote to give them the AP championship and it is split.
And by the way, we might not be first right now but we are way ahead of third.

I hope the Auburn football team is as spitting mad as Auburn fans are.

How many millions does ESPN have invested in SEC?

I really just dont understand why any of it matters. Message to Auburn: Just win and you are fine. It doesnt matter if you are One Or Two. First place doesnt start the Championship game with 7 extra points or anything

I would be furious if we were on the bubble...win and we are there. I am pretty ill though at the brazen nature of the effort by ESPN. You would think that AU squeaked by OM. Granted, I think USC would kick OM's arse but Coaches and Harris think we NARROWED the gap.
Post more. That was the longest post I have ever read in its entirety.
