Give me a fricking break. I smoke weed, and while I think it is bullshite that it is illegal, I know what I have to do and not do to not get caught. If I get caught, then it is my fault because that more than likely means that I was being dumb. I am not going to blame the law, because whether I like it or not, rules are rules, even if they are dumb.

In Alabama, you can carry a gun on you in public, with no permit, as long as it is unconcealed.
You only need a permit to carry it concealed or in your car.
The entire permit requirement is nothing more than a way for the state to extort money from you for exercising a Constitutional right.

everytime something crazy broke out we'd have a bunch of cowboys pulling out their firearms and firing all over the place
Coffee should not have had the gun if wasn't registered period, that was just stupid. But to the point quoted above, you're right we can't have everyone with guns walking around, but I imagine that if everyone was walking around with a gun, there would be a lot less crazy stuff breaking out in the first place anyway.
Oh, this is all probably Operation Red Dog in action anyways. Has anyone questioned Curtis Anderson yet?

How bout giving me a fricking break. Where in the Constitution does it say you have the right to smoke weed? Not even a valid comparison. Something more comparable would be to say that it's now illegal to state your opinion while in public, then getting arrested for it. An infringement on basic rights guaranteed by the Constitution has created criminals, while trampling the rights of the individual.

ding ding. Except in some other states, they require gun registration. Just like the background checks were supposed to never keep a record or log of owners who purchased guns, guess what.. the Gov't broke their own laws when it first began and kept records of gun purchasers, which was illegal. Didn't see anyone from gov't getting arrested and charged for that though.

I was about to make this same case...to me, this is like requiring someone to purchase a permit to speak freely or go to church. Its bullshite.

Guns should NEVER have to be registered. The sole intention of the 2nd Amendment was to protect the citizens from their own government and give them recourse should it ever try to deny freedoms.

You made a giant leap from what he said and what you think he said. He simply said that there are even bad cops, but you don't fear every cop that carries a gun.
I never disagreed with that, but the facts are that police officers are men of the law and are QUALIFIED to handle such situations, does not matter if there are crazy cops out there, I am willing to assume that every cop I see is not like that.

He also never stated he was going to go all John Wayne, simply that he had a right to carry a pistol on his possession.
I never said he would, but there are people that would act in such a way.

Maybe things would be better if everyone was armed and it "looked" like the 1800's.
Umm, no.

Fact is this.. the 2nd Amendment affords every legal citizen the RIGHT to possess firearms.
No one is disputing that fact.

the arguments that anyone shouldn't be allowed to because someone is nervous about it, or because they don't feel comfortable, is well.. tough shite.
I never said it should not be allowed, I simply stated that I was unaware that so many people just carry their firearm around with them. When I pass someone on the street, I very rarely think that person is carrying a weapon. I don't know that person, so no, I am not comfortable with it. I don't mind carrying one around with you in your car, but to actually tote it around is kind of ridiculous IMO.

it's the decades of socialistic laws that have permeated the courts and public to believe that they don't and cause the bullshite laws that has made someone, exercising their right a criminal now.
It's called the evolution of society.

So just because it is not in the constitution, that means it cannot be acceptable? Wow, you are better than this Alahunter.

Absolutely agree. Breaking down the 2nd Amendment has slowly led to the erosion of other infringements on the American public and nobody has a friggin clue or cares about it. Imagine 50 yrs ago how the public would have reacted to the attacks on 4th amend. rights.. even Hate Crimes.. penalizing a crime based on thought is ridiculous.. there are so many freedoms given up and so many people ready and quick to defend them being given up in the name of "safety" or whatever else.

I agree with you on the weed angle Funky. It's no different than alchohol, so why is it treated so differently? However, the right to bear arms IS explicitly protected in the Constitution, for the very reason that they didn't want overbearing politicians regulating or making it illegal based on the whims of the day...like they did weed.

I am all for upholding the constitution, but it is a document that was written over 200 years ago. Times have changed, so some things in the constitution have had to change accordingly. It is just the way it is.

While you may think it ridiculous, it's still a right that was guaranteed and socialism has seeped its way into our laws and is choking that right away.

Or de-evolution. Desensitization of violence and other things that were considered once moral has created a decay on society. It could be argued that the liberal rights that pot smokers and other individuals have pushed for are more responsible for the gun violence than anyone else. By partaking in an illegal trade, they create the demand and the violence that comes with drug running.

Basic rights should never be impeded. I want to find it incredulous that this was even said, but sadly, I'm not. Toooooo many people like yourself have bought into the idea that giving up a few freedoms are worth being comfortable. The problem with this, is that someone will be in charge of what you have given up, and eventually, you'll turn around and see that you have no more rights and no way to fight back for them.

All she has to do is show her insurance card to the D.A. and they'll drop it. I've gotten two and both times they were dropped after providing proof of insurance.

Not a good way to start a mission. A gun? Christians use the gun example as their best weapon for Christ. If someone held a gun to your head and told you to love them you prolly would say you did. But Christ would rather have the true love of a few than the forced love like a robot. There's your choice. It was his to carry a gun. I understand name athletes are targets of robbery, it's just sad how this all worked out for him. But that's how God works, though. I think He has a plan for this man. Hopefully, this can actually be very good for Glen in the long run.
