Auburn fans is it safe to say now that Mario "fumbling" Fanin is officially a bust?

Great game by AU. Their most complete yet.

Not a bust. He just has a fumbling issue.

He's the best pass catching RB we've ever had at AU.

His shoulder possibly is still bothering him. He was letting that left arm hang when he came off the field after the fumble and I didnt see him get back in.

Dyer started carrying the load and the more confidence the coaches get in him the less Fanin is needed.

As a running back, yes.

But he isn't a bust because he sure as hell has been useful in the passing game during his stay. And he'll continue to be useful. Him going on the wheel route is like an automatic TD.

Yeah Dyer missed a few blocks but overall he's played very well for a freshman.

He matched Lattimore. AU is set up nicely to be undefeated by the time ARK hits. I see Dyer getting needed experience over these next few games greately limiting Fanin's time on the field. If he stays mistake free coaches confidence will grow.

For years now we've heard how much of a playmaker Fanin could be but has he really showed it. I know Tuberville had a habit of hyping up players but as Auburn fans do you guys feel that Fanin has lived up to expectations?

I'm really surprised at how Fannin's year is turning out. I honestly thought he'd be killing it this year. I hope he can get back whatever he needs to get back to turn it around though.

I will start and say that I think that Dyer played better than Lattimore yesterday. The second half Dyer got stronger and Lattimore was keyed in on and the stats blew up.

As for Fannin, I don't think he is a bust or overhyped, I just think he is much better as a 5 or 6 touch per game slot guy than at tailback trying to carry the ball 20 times. He just hasn't looked comfortable at tailback all year when the eyes are on him.

how do you feel about bama getting exposed yesterday. Mcelroy is NOT a great qb. when the d takes away his safety net in the flat or the short dump across the middle he folds....the end.

I really don't like Fannin, giving him the ball always seems risky to me. He's always been okay as a RB, except if they had a record for most career fumbles, Fannin would be at or near the top for sure.

There is no comparison yesterday on who played better

Dyer had 100 yards and a 4.3 YPC

Lattimore had 33 yards and a 2.4 YPC

Not even close.

Remember the USF game.. Ugh, I was in the stands going crazy at FUMBLING FANNIN! I think he should be used as a receiver or in the wild cat.

The shoulder is still bothering him, no doubt about that.

He did get back in later in the game, but never touched the ball, or touched anyone on the defense either. They commented on that on the post game show last night - said that when he did come back in he seemed to stay away from the action; basically gunshy to even make contact with someone for fear of hurting the shoulder again.

Does nobody think it was apart of the gameplanning? Everyone and their mama knew AU would focus on Lattimore. So what happens? Garcia has 3 TDs... he only had 2 in the 3 1st games combined.

Jimmy Johns part 2 (minus the drug dealing).

He is one of these random players the fans hype up for no reason; mostly coming off of internet rumors of some crazy play he had in a practice. In reality though, they don't have the consistent performances necessary to be SEC stars.

For the record, Newton had 5 TDs; 3 rushing and 2 passing, yet Dyer still got his 100+ yards. It's going to be interesting to compare these two great running backs for the next three or four years. Good game USC, btw.

Which has to do with what? How much of those came after Garcia's 1st fumble? Our defense couldn't stop them regardless of what was going on and had no one to blame but themselves for being on the field for so long.

The fact that the opposition gameplanned against you is not an acceptable excuse for poor performance.

Tawanda is making the point that USCe gamplanned for Newton and DYer, but it didn't stop them.

Pretty sure he is top 15 in total yardage in auburn history. Not what I'd call a bust. Does he have a hard time holding onto the ball, yes but he is far from a bust
