I think it was Tony Franklin who criticized how religious the Athletic Department at Auburn wanted the football team to be. I can't be assed to find the quotes.
If you're looking for shock and awe out of Auburn fans I wouldn't hold your breath. Everytime I've talked to Chizik he's ended the conversation with "God Bless".

That said, I haven't heard the exact quote, but if he said that God wanted AU to win then he deserves all the criticism being flung his way.
But you have to admit, for AU to win that game was a freakin' miracle.

The megachurch in my city actually made a movie about a Christian highschool that sucked arse at football, but through the power of prayer, the starting QB for the team they had to beat to get into the playoffs got kicked out of school for cheating on a test and they won. That shite got released in theaters all over the country. Sad day for America.

I couldn't believe what I was watching. Apparently if you pray it will make God crush the hopes and dreams of everyone else if it makes your life better. I actually know a few of the guys who are on the football team in the movie. One of them loves blow.
