I wish there was a way to punish the agents and not the schools. I'm sure if Urban knew that kid would have been gone.

well the good thing about this is it will take 5 years for them to rule anything and they wont Take away any NCs. They also will still be the APNC if they win all their games.

Rut-Roh

I hope this doesn't cause Urban's life-threatening health condition to return. Of course, it only lasted 48 hours last time.

Actually, they will likely "vacate" the Sugar Bowl win against Cincy, since it happened between the SECCG and the Sugar Bowl. It doesn't affect their NC in any way.

They signed seven kids from that Lakeland High team, knowing full well that one of them had accepted significant benefits as a high-schooler. Why think the others' hands weren't dirty.

One bad player can ruin it all, no matter what the coaches and compliance staff can do. I hope UF comes out of this OK - I don't think Meyer would run a dirty program.

With all due respect.... he's allowed his players jump on the Tiger eye for 2 years now. That's pretty shitty. There is little respect from Meyer to our players. You don't see Miles allowing our guys to jump on the G in Georgia or the Crimson Tide in Bryant-Dennhey stadium. Before the game starts, I might add.

there's a difference between running a dirty program and running classless program.

dirty program- paying players or otherwise knowingly playing ineligible players

classless program- not disciplining your players for their behavioral frick-ups.

ie, just b/c you don't discipline your players does not mean that you pay them or change their grades

Seeing as how Bama's been on probation many times in my lifetime, I couldn't throw stones even if I wanted to. The players (should) know better, but you can almost understand it coming from them. They're young. But the agents know damned well things like this can harm the schools, but they're greedy pricks.

I would say that since the University is state run and the agent is damaging the state through the university, I think the state should be able to press charges against the agent. At the least, if he comes around any of the programs in the state they should be able to go after him.
