Would not "Rebel" also be considered offensive to some people? Why scrap the mascot but keep the foundation of its name?

Why not a mascot replicating someone/thing that can actually be seen on the campus? In that case, the mascot should be a pimply-faced teen wearing a wrinkled shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a gaudy necktie and khaki pants. For additional authenticity, the mascot should reek of cheap cologne & White Zinfadel.
