Florida isn't dominant hitting, running the bases, fielding, or pitching, but is pretty good at all of them.

Will be a tough out for any team this year.

Should win the east without too much of a fight.

Way too early to make predictions.

Long year and many series that can make waves min sweeps.

LSU is probably not as good as last year but still capable of making it to Omaha. (with Ranaudo healthy)

Tenn. Georgia and State are garbage.

Alabama and Auburn will surprise.

Wouldnt be surprised to see Florida, SC, LSU, Arky and Piss all host regionals.

LSU's got some young faces that are impatient at the plate (some older ones too)

may take a bit more of the season for them to settle into a groove, until then i expect some inconsistent outings at the plate

They still arent playing their best ball, but unusually gritty for having so many young guys...sign of good coaching, PM did an excellent job assembling a staff that could contain Arkansas.

I think Matulis will be LSU's next great pitcher, i felt that he was one of our top 3 pitchers for a while now, but what he showed me today was his ability to gut it out against a quality opponent. Now that i know its in him, i still expect some inconsistency (he will be roughed up several times this season), but expect great things in the future

The SEC West will come down to the final week of play imo, which isnt all that unusual, but i expect a little more bunching up top from the 3 and 4 spot

Poor Mississippi State

I expect UF to take the west with some pressure from South Carolina

Poor Tennessee

Observations/Expectations/Predictions

LSU will go 5-1 the next 2 weeks in conference play.

Arky is better than their 2-4 record will indicate after they lose to Bama this next weekend. Tough draw the 1st 2 weeks of conf. play.

Florida is good; will win east.

UGA and State will not make it to Hoover.

Mainieri is still the best coach in the country.

Ranaudo 100% from here on out = I don't see LSU losing more than 1 SEC series this year (we've won 14 of last 15 series dating back to April 2008)

Rittner and Matulis can ball at this level.

We're a better HR/slugging team than stats indicate; we drove a ton of balls to track this weekend.....those will start getting over soon.

Certainties = Ole Piss will still choke in the post season and the SEC is once again the best baseball conference in the land.

Both SC and Auburn got sweeps over some pretty bad teams (still not sure what happened with UGA after being ranked pre-season) but SC and Auburn will play next weekend and that should be a much better measure of the teams more so than the series they played this weekend.
