Is there an other conference who can claim that...

The last time any conference was even close was from 1977-80. Alabama should have had three straight from 1977-79, and Georgia won in 1980.

It will be 9 out of 10 after Bama wins the next five straight.

These are the only 3 instances that I would count as legitimate ( LINK):
Western Conference, 5: 1901-05 (MIx4 + Chicago)
Western Conference, 4: 1933-36 (MI + MNx3)
SEC, 6: 1957-62
Cal had a nice run from 1920-23, but I wouldn't count all 4 of those as legit title claims. Some would say that Ole Miss doesn't have legit claims for 1959 & 1962.

Wasnt there an ESPN article posted on here a few days ago that said one confrence winning 4 in a row has never happened? Even if it has its still very impressive and may continue.

I'm not sure anyone in the SEC is set up for a NC run next season. It would be pretty cool to get 5 in a row though.

Well some people think that all national titles before the birth of the AP poll in 1936 are non-existent, but Michigan and Minnesota have pretty strong claims for their respective streaks.

Georgia choked against Clemson & Pitt in 1981 as well.

Francesca on WFAN in NY said this is the greatest streak of any conference esp today with all the competition.

OF COURSE NOT. THE SEC IS TOP HEAVY AND WILL WIN THESE GAMES. IN THIS CASE, ALABAMA SHOULD GET ON THEIR KNEES AND THANK GOD THAT MCCOY WAS NOT PLAYING. FOR IS HE WAS ALABAMA WOULD HAVE HAD THE shite KICKED OUT OF THEM.

Am I missing something here???......THE reason why McCoy wasn't playing is because BAMA KNOCKED HIM OUT OF THE GAME......just sayin'
