I have a feeling who ever they offer will take the job. If it does get turned down it won't be more than once or twice(as long as we are talking just CFB candidates and not NFL guys).

I expect their contract to blow away all other contracts in the NCAA. I also think it is promising to a coach since they gave Weis 5 seasons to really build a power(with a huge contract). There is no reason to feel like you won't get a reasonable shot before the heat comes.

The same could be said about Ole Miss fans about Tubby or LSU/Dolphins fans about Saban, or Louisville/Falcons fans about Petrino...or any other coach for that matter...what else is he going to say when asked? What else is he going to do...coaches have to be involved and influential in the communities of the school they coach...they are trying to get credibility...most coaches do work hard to build the program they are at...to A) keep a job or B) build there name up for a better job...

All you can do is take him for his word. So far, Meyer has been pretty honest about his intentions with UF and other schools. There have been countless stories about how he was unhappy here at first because he felt like an outsider but now has became the best of friends with Donovan and a number of former football players and staff.

I think ND's 1st choice is meyer. But it would take one hell of a offer to lure him away.

Saban, and his Big10 connections would be a fit for ND as well, but Saban has another 2 years before he leaves. For him it's the 5 year itch, so i don't see him leaving

Stoops wants the job, but I'm not sure ND wants stoops crying

I think ND will turn to the NFL again for a coasch when it's all said and done.

I don't think it will matter considering the job offer.

I think who ever gets the offer will more than likely take it.

It is more along the lines that we are very happy with our coach, and so far he is very happy with us. That is all we can ask for.

Whatever makes you naive people feel better...we can finish the discussion when Urban Meyer is gone...whether it be this year or 3 years down the road...I will go out on a limb and say that it is highly unlikely he will retire from UF...regardless of how successful he is...

3.) A contract with Nike (football only)

Isn't ND under contract with Adidias now? Are they breaking this contract?

He is only in his mid-40's. You are not going to find many people that believe he will be here until he retires. Afterall, the guy who played for us and won a Heisman here only coached us 12 years.
