I Just Don't Hate Nick Saban Like I Used To...

If our program was headed downhill, I would probably hate the guy for leaving and ending up at Alabama, but since Miles has a chance at giving LSU their 4th 11 win season in 5 tries, I just don't feel like we're missing Saban.

Although he is a snake in the grass, I don't hate him either.

Miles is doing just fine with the program.

I don't hate Nick Saban as much as I use to but I still hate on Bama.
And Nick figures into that.

My genuine hatred for Alabama far outweighs any petty, insignificant distaste I might have for Nick Saban.
It's weird. I find it more difficult to hate Auburn without Tubberville (maybe because they're down right now,) but I hate Bama regardless of who happens to be coaching there.

The only reason I hate Nick Saban is that he took his damn sweet time on taking the Miami job. That is why LSU ended up with Miles when better candidates were already taken.

Who were the other candidates?

I'd rather spend my time thinking about my team than some other team's coach or players. I mean, you only have so much time and energy, why waste it on "the other"? I've never had bad feelings or even much interest in Saban since he left LSU, except for the time a couple years ago when he was supposed to have said that he and his coaching staff are better than LSU's. About the only interest I have in Saban at this point is to see whether he brings home a mountain of NCs to Bama or becomes another Mark Richt.

I felt this way sort of when Tennessee got rid of Fulmer. Then Special K came along and put things back to normal.

Yeah. Kiffin got you back on track quickly.
I've never hated Tennessee, but I can't stand that little brat.

But you've got to hand it to Saban in at least one respect-- that it could never be said that he's been photographed kissing another man. The same can't be said for Miles I'm afraid.

It was a damn strong man on man kiss!

i don't hate saban either. i hate bama and he is their coach. it has nothing to do with him being at lsu (to me). he left to go to miami, not bama. les miles is the coach at LSU and i love LSU. even though coach miles is not perfect and our players are not perfect, they represent the purple and gold and that makes them my favorite players and coaches in the world.

I find it hard to dislike Saban. He doesn't talk trash like Kiffen, Spurrier, Meyer and doesn't run up the score. He may be an SOB to work or play for but he is a great coach and recruiter and always seems very focused on just football and very complimentary of other teams he is facing. I like the way he doesn't get caught up in the hype or words being thrown around between players and coaches before games. And the players that play for him are all on the same page when being spoken to or interviewed by the media. I heard Rolando McClain being interviewed on College FB Live yesterday and he had the Sabanspeak down pat.

I used to hate Saban, but I recognize it was illogical and my resentment at the time failed to take into account gratitude for what he did for LSU.

I remember being incensed that Saban left when he did, because I had wanted him to leave a few months earlier. It just sucked that he left LSU right after Florida and South Carolina had wrapped up getting Meyer and Spurrier, both of which I had wanted to come to LSU. Terrible timing (and LSU is still suffering to this day from the hastily put together recruiting class of February 2005) ... but Les Miles ended up being better than I thought, so I'm okay with it now.

Well I strongly dislike (trying to get to Heaven) anything about UA-T so I guess their little coach is part of that package.

I don't hate Saban, he did way too much for LSU to hate him. Yeah he's a rival now, blahblah...but in 10-20 years no one will care and he will be remembered for the 2003 championship season.
I hate Bama though
