It doesn't matter. IMHO LSU would have won regardless but hopefully this will send a message to all officials to hold the hanky on questionable celebration calls. Just let the kids play if it's not taunting or a significant delay of game.

i wonder how long before georgia fans start saying that without this call they win, just like in '03 without our kicker missing 3 fg's we win, and how they will beat us down if they play us again setting up for a championship game and we beat them by +20 again

Did he apologize for letting Holliday run back a 40 yard kickoff return or not being able to tackle Scott for his 30 yard TD .... grant they were both terrible calls but they didnt lose UGA the game

Exactly. The call was horrible, and the call on Scott afterwards was CLEARLY a "make-up call" (that needs to be explained also)...but make a damn tackle or two and you win the game anyway.

From what I have seen today, not a single UGA fan on this board has said the call was the sole reason we lost the game. We had one first down in the first half. We let Scott run for a huge gain (without the penalty, best case for UGA is we stop him on the 20). Sure the call didnt help, but take it away and it doesnt guarantee victory by any means.
I do hope it puts more focus on the stupid interpretation of what is a judgment rule. But so far, the UGA representation on here has been pretty respectful to what was a W for LSU.

I think the original Georgia fan poster stated that he thinks LSU would've won anyway. I'm glad they came out and admitted a mistake, now maybe they will let the kids have a little fun after a big score.
