Blamed the loss in the Sugar Bowl on Andre Smith. Said that one person cannot win a football game but that the decsisons of one person on the team can distroy the chemistry of the team, and it affected Bama's play in the Sugar Bowl, which is why they lost.

Guess I learned something new. I always thought that the guy that made $4M a year was ultimately responsible for the play of the team.

They should've like overcome adversity or something relative to playing for 60 minutes.

So the effects of the 4th quarter program are voided by losing your starting left tackle?

What he meant to say was: "we weren't ready to play, I think we had a big let down after losing to Florida, certainly losing Andre didn't help matters"

will probably be on again. If you don't believe me, set your Tivo.

This is Saban's Achiles Heel. His arrogance. It eventually catches up with him.

And what the hell happened to him. He looks like he aged about 20 years in the last five. Looks like shite.

Hard to beleive, but he is famous for throwing players under the bus. How does your OFFENSIVE left tackle being out have anything to do with Utah scoring so many points?

I feel bad for Saban, Ronnie Prude cost him the Cap One bowl trophy on his trip down to Miami...

I thought he blamed the Sugar Bowl on the fans...

quote:

“There’s very little interest from our fans, our players or anybody else to play in the Sugar Bowl, which to me is a tremendous opportunity,” Saban said. “I tried to tell everyone, you’re only going to remember one thing about this game and that’s the outcome. So there’s no interest, there’s no passion and everybody is embarrassed because of how we played. Well, it’s because you didn’t have any passion for it, you didn’t have any interest in it, you didn’t have any enthusiasm to do it, and that’s across the board. And that’s not right. We go to a BCS bowl game, everybody ought to be positive and enthusiastic about what we’re doing.“

Yes because choosing to blitz on the very last play of the game instead of dropping back 4 or 5 defenders to keep the receiver from scoring is always a smart plan.

smith was responsible for the defense sitting on their asses. typical saban blaming players not himself for not being prepared.

Saban is an ego driven prick. I hope recruits here the shite that comes out of his mouth on a daily basis.

He did throw Prude under the bus when interviewed on the field seconds after the game, Which at the time I couldn't blame him. I personally wanted to be the guy driving that bus.
Saban said something like " you call the play and everybody but one guy knows the play. We called man coverage and one guy plays zone and things like that happen."

Thats not word for word but it's pretty much what he said. I can't remember if he said Prude's name or not.
