After reading this article, I was curious what you guys thought about it since Saban was at LSU for 5 years using the same techniques.

It didn't work against UAB (LSU) or ULM (Bama)

The thing about saban is he has a definite way of doing things. All this motivation doing it right things are things he talks about more than other coaches, but all coaches teach these values. His intensity is good because it brings out the most in players, but I often felt like the players would get too uptight and be afraid to make a mistake. No doubt, he is a great coach.

Crazy.....that's a good point. I have wondered about that myself........

It would be interesting to see if any of his teams had come back from a decent deficit against a good team. He tends to start popping blood vessels when things aren't going well, vs. trying to calm the team down.

What ever he does backfired against Utah on his biggest national stage since he's been at bama.

He had a really good quote when a reporter asked him about freshmen "hitting the wall". It used to be my sig quote until he left and I was like frick him. I'll see if I can find it for you in case your spank bank starts running low.

Thanks to Saban, LSU is an elite football team with an elite recruiting program for the first time in its history--thank you Nick!

Saban is an immature college geek

More like thanks to Mark Emmert.

I'll never forget Saban going ballistic on a LSU QB that made a mistake during the forth quarter, while we were giving them a beat down. Typical Saban, it's all about doing things the right way, no matter who you are playing or what the score is.

The only problem with Nick's intensity is that he reaches a point of diminishing returns.
I firmly believe that is why he bounces around from place to place. He is one of the best in the business at what he does. He builds programs, after they are built he starts getting antsy and starts checking the color of the grass on the other side of the fence. Only he is looking for a yard with brown grass and a huge maintenance budget.

bingo
his style is great for bringing a proud program back from the ashes.....but I don't think it is right for winning titles. He'll win more games than he loses at the college level, as he is an outstanding college coach. But every year he will lose a game he has no business losing.

At least one! Sometimes more. I found him to be very predictable, but I'm not sure if that's Jimbo or if that's Nick.
