re: Serious Question: What was Brian Kelly good at?
Posted by RedlandsTiger on 11/20/25 at 4:14 pm to DeathByTossDive225
Kelly fired Tommy Moffit, and we know what T A&M did to us physically. He fired Blake Baker, and had had to hire him back to have a decent defense. He became arrogant and lazy once he came to LSU. He thought he had made it, and was smarter than everyone else. I would have never predicted it. I was sure he was a Saban-like coach. I was wrong. Nick was never satisfied, he was always thinking about getting better. Did you see photos of Saban hoisting the 2003 National Championship trophy? He couldn't smile, he was already thinking about next year.

This. I had one back in the day. It would put a hole in a old style metal trash can. A benjamin .177 wasn't even close to that power.

Wednesday's senior day at Supercuts on Sherwood; $12.95 and a $5 tip. Tonja is funnier than a crap. She always has a funny story to tell during the haircut.

You got that right, Brussel sprouts are the worst vegetable ever boiled. But broiled-roasted, they are the best.

Another case of people being rewarded by the government programs that reinforce bad behavior. Shocker.

Arrogance. He's not near as smart as he thinks he is.
He fired Blake Baker and had to hire him back and make him the highest paid defensive coordinator. He fired Tommy Moffit and we see how that worked out for TA&M.

We are talking apples and oranges. The metropolitan area for Ocean Spings includes 5 counties.
The statistical area consists of the Gulfport–Biloxi Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Pascagoula Metropolitan Statistical Area. The 2010 census placed the CSA population at 411,066, and as of 2019, is estimated to be 442,165.[1] The area was significantly impacted by Hurricane Katrina on August 29, 2005, although population growth has steadily rebounded in recent years.[2]
Counties
Hancock
Harrison
George
Jackson
Stone
A 800 person town should not even be considered a town, it's a community (and probably not be incorporated). In my book, a town with a population of 18,000 people is a small town.

Population 18,954 (2024)
That's a small town in my book, what's your definition? if it's 600, then yes small towns suck (but I don't think that's a town).

Don't forget the 1937 Cord. A design that was way ahead of the time. Pop-up headlights and front wheel drive.

Retired, own my home in a nice neighborhood with good neighbors, love our church, have plenty of money, good health, good wife, good grown kids with great spouses and jobs, and the first grandchild is due in February. God has blessed us.
But why can't they fix the roads in Louisiana?!

re: Guys with young families, how much money do you spend on yourself?
Posted by RedlandsTiger on 10/5/25 at 8:02 am to T1gerNate
I have boys and tried golf lessons and they didn't like it. So I paid for their music lessons at 5 years old, put them in youth sports and cub scouts. Their activities became my activities (i was a volunteer leader, refed games, etc.). I love golf but it takes too much time to play, although I would play 9 holes at the local muni-course (carrying my bag so I get exercise) before work with some co-workers. And go work out at the gym while they're sleeping.
