Overall it's a solid list, but every SEC fan has a different opinion on who was the best aka favorite QB at their respective schools...

I'd say Rockey Felker was our best QB.
John Bond was pretty good also.

Florida Quarterback John Reeves was one of the best I've ever seen.

Babe Parilli is the answer for Kentucky.

It depends on if you count pro careers or not for some schools cuz tittle and tarkenton weren't great in college.

If it's a combo then Starr has a chance for Alabama even though he was unfortunate enough to play for Ears.

Florida- Shane Mathews

Tebow...maybe...

The guy only has 2 rings and a Heisman trophy...possibly a 3rd and 2nd respectively after this year.

Going to add a few - limited to those I've seen in person:

LSU - Bert Jones

Ole Miss - Archie with Jake Gibbs a close second

MooState - John Bond

Auburn - Pat Sullivan

BAMA - Scott Hunter

Kentucky - Jerry Woolum (throwing to an all american end, Tom Hutchinson, perhaps made him look better than he really was.)

Ga.Tech (while still in the SEC) - Billy Lothridge

Tulane (also during their SEC years) - Gene "the mouse" Newton

I missed out on some of the great qbs of the Gators. Best I can recall seeing in person - Larry Libertore (1960). Believe he was smaller than Trindon Holliday

I've never seen Arkansas, Georgia or Vandy in person. Went to the LSU vs. S.Carolina game last year - wasn't too impressed with their qbs.

Georgia- Tarkenton
Vandy- Cutler

This is actually a very good list. Just substitute Spurrier for Shane Matthews (not even close, really) and Y. A. Tittle for Bert Jones and by George, I think you've got it!

Oh, God, here we go again! Why do people always credit the quarterback with "winning a national championship?"

Wuerffel was nothing more than an average talent that played in a great system with a great coach and a great team.

Matthews was better, but not in Spurrier's league by a long shot.....
