IMO, Auburn's antics continue to humiliate the conference. I thought the Zook hire was the worst in the SEC in years, but Chizik has to be worse. His record at Iowa State was fricking abysmal. What the frick are they thinking?

Dan McCarney was probably the only coach that could ever win at Iowa State IMO. With that said, I wonder how different things would be if Turner Gill was at Auburn.

Tough times on the plains... I'm not counting them out in the long run tho.

Short term... meh.

What "antics"

Embarrassing the conference? What about that coach in Knoxville that called out your team?

Let's not forget that Chizik actually has strongly contributed to the success of a team.... unlike certain other new coaches who were just along for the ride.

Had Todd's arm performed in the season like it did at the first of practice he'd have been up there with Snead in performance, assuming the receivers held on to the ball. I'm pleased by this announcement my only concern is will the same thing happen again. If it doesn't he will perform very well.

IMHO...Turner Gill is just as unqualified as people say Gene Chizik is...Really what has he done to suggest he is ready to coach at a big time school in a big time conference?

People can run their mouth about Chizik if they want too but the bottom line he hasn't done anything bad since he has been here...He seems to be doing a good job of letting his coordinators do their jobs and he is doing his job...Every school in the SEC has made hires that are less than popular...some work out...some don't....

I know people like to make fun of him and it is expected, but will just have to wait and see. He may be really good at Auburn and you can't go by his record at Iowa State. He has put together a really good staff also.

I'd put Kiffin waaaay ahead of Chizik in the SEC embarassment department.

The guy on Comedy Central roasting the SEC said it best:

"Man, Tennessee hires Lane Kiffin the same year Chizik gets hired at Auburn. It was like Christmas for Crimson Tide fans this year. I haven’t seen Alabama fans this happy since segregation."

I aint saying shite, because I feel the pain that it looks like Auburn is about to go through. One minute you are apart of the SEC power base and then Mike Archer and Curly Hallman are playing equal rolls in sinking a program. Then you think Gerry Dinardo is bailing it out until you find out he was just opeining the hole wider.

Seriously, this is what Auburn is reminding me of.
