In light of the "most improved" thread...which SEC team has the most to lose?

Florida because of all of the NC talk?
Ole Miss because of all of the SEC/BCS talk?
Alabama, LSU, Auburn, UT, MSU?

Out of all of the SEC teams, every team has some type of expectation...Which fan base will "meltdown" if expectations are not met?

Has to be Florida. Everyone in the nation is expecting them to run the table and repeat.

Florida fans will be pissed, no doubt. But they are going to get everyone's best shot. So, if they go through their schedule unscathed, then they get my vote for one of the best teams of all time.

Florida and Ole Miss because of the ridiculous expectations from both schools.

I also think that if Tennessee and Auburn fail to have winning seasons, their fan bases will begin to turn on the coaches - particularly Auburn, because Chizik was not a popular hire to begin with.

I agree with this, although not for myself. For a large portion of the fanbase...this is true, but I have the understanding that in order to turn our program around it will take more than 1 season...

Bama. If they have a "mediocre" season (say 8/9 wins) you'll start hearing "talk" about Saban, imo.

I can see this happening, but they would need to win less than 8 games though.

Florida has the most to lose, but I think they will meet their expectations. Which team is going to be most dissapointd at the end of the year. Ole Miss is the clear cut answer, expectations WAY to high. I've never heard of an 8-4 team with so much hype from the fan base.

I actually agree about OM b/c this year sets up beautifully for them with players returning and schedule. The OM fans know this too. This is as close as they are going to get to sniff the prom queen's panties. Otherwise, they will have to wait a few more years to get back in contention.

A lot of people saying Fla, because of defending their chmshp, but hey only one team can win it and they know they can't win it every year. I think the Tigers, w/the defensive hirings, the quarterback position supposedly fixed, the Saban's players gone, etc., have the biggest fan meltdown potential if we do not win nine games and seriously challenge for the west.

LSU. If Miles (and his corrective measures, i.e Chavis) fail to produce....

8-9 wins would be disappointing, but not a disaster. However, less than 8 would be very bad. We have a pretty easy schedule.

There is no question LSU is going to be dissapointed at the end of the year. They are going to be dissapointed their first game once they expereince the third and chavis.

Agree. This is the perfect storm for us. Good talent left in the tank, easiest schedule in 30 years, strong coaching staff. I also agree that if we fail to get the the SECCG this year, it'll be 2 or possibly 3 more years until we have another chance this good (meaning favorable schedule, questions at power schools, talent at OM).

And while there will certainly be a conspicuous amount of total meltdown (myself included, was that a mushroom cloud in Mandeville?) accompanying a 7-5, 8-4 (out of west contention), I would submit that no fan base is more prepared to deal with a let down than ours.

Whatever this season turns out to be, it'll be damn exciting. 2003 was a really fun year to be a Rebel. Oxford was absolutely electric during that undefeated run in the SEC. F'ing Tigers. Had that not been an NC caliber Tigers team, we'd have our West Title and possibly a SECC to go along with it. Good times.
