re: Fred Parnell's "The Sport Shop"
Posted by tasseaux joeaux on 6/14/12 at 10:19 am
Worked at both The Sports Shop and Stienbergs back in the day. Mr Fred and his sidekick Velo were fun to be around. Met Hank Jr at the store one morning after a concert the night before. He was a friend of Mr Freds. I'll never forget the item he bought, a hand full of LaCrosse hipboot straps. Funtimes.

You may be dead on at 50 yds if you are 1" high at 100.

Tom, we can agree on this. I just get my feathers ruffled when the depletion of deer in NELA is blamed on the orange clad coonass army. We both know the problem is mis-management. I really hate that for ya'll, having a place that close with that kind of potential but with managers causing a cluster ****.

I've actually never been to Tensas but have been to many N LA wma's. I just find it comical for you to say that the coonasses shoot up the woods more than the hungry tobacco spitters. You must be a La Tech fan also.

You did misread his post, he wasn't suggesting leaving things like they are statewide. Just because you are from N LA doesn't intital you to the refuge any more than anyone else, you don't own it and if you have been hunting there since you were born it might be you who screwed it all up. Remember us coonasses only go once a year.

Seen plenty redneck tobacco spitters dragging out buttonheads strapped to their folding paint ladders. Stereotype some?

I have a Rem 700 in 30-06, love it. My brother has same gun in 270, half the recoil, love it more. Rem 700 is top notch, not just for the money but at any price. Ruger M-77 is also solid. If I were doing over it probably be 7mm-08 or 270. 7mm-08 has similar performance to 270, similar recoil, and shorter quicker bolt throw. Good Luck.

Face it guys, we got problems. After 2yrs in the system, either CG knows that JJ, JL, or ZL are better than him, or our coaches are in over their head and niether is what we should know at this point. It's amateur sports, I've seen magical runs with unhearalded and unsuspected leaders, ZL needs a serious look if he apparently looks that good to his competition. :geauxtigers:
re: Why did Shane Ardoin transfer from LSU to ULaMo?
Posted by tasseaux joeaux on 3/16/10 at 8:55 pm
King James, I see you are from Laffy, there were no schools in SH dist from Laffy. You sound a little bitter about something. Oh by the way, what SEC school did you sign with coming out of Dist 6-2A. Shane is a good kid if he kicked your arse no need to be bitter.
re: So if LSU has to hear 5 years into the Miles era..
Posted by tasseaux joeaux on 7/22/09 at 9:27 am
Nick was great here no doubt, but the Bama's preaching about the "Lamborghini" the he left Miles is stupid. Didn't he lose 5 games his last season here? Isn't that the "mediocraty" that we have supposedly fallen to w/Miles?

Enfuego, do you know Ardoin? I've known he and his family all my life, far from garbage as a ball player and a person. Where you offered a scholarship to pitch at LSU? Get a life punk!
re: Anyone here ever been to an LSU game before the Skip era?
Posted by tasseaux joeaux on 6/16/09 at 11:03 am
Saw Bo Jackson slam a couple of balls into TS parking lot. Skip's first couple of yrs 84 or 85. No more than 200-300 fans. It was fun to watch the evolution.
re: Which SEC team has the most to lose this coming season?
Posted by tasseaux joeaux on 6/15/09 at 12:54 pm
A lot of people saying Fla, because of defending their chmshp, but hey only one team can win it and they know they can't win it every year. I think the Tigers, w/the defensive hirings, the quarterback position supposedly fixed, the Saban's players gone, etc., have the biggest fan meltdown potential if we do not win nine games and seriously challenge for the west.

I'll take Mitchell, he would probably have bigger numbers than your guy if he played for Minn and in the Big 11.
