Another poor showing for Miles puts him in trouble for this seasons end.
Miles would have to lose every game this year to be fired. IF Miles finished with the same exact record this year, meaning 3-5 conference record.
He is definitely on the HOT SEAT for the next year.

IMO everyone is on the hot seat except Meyer and the new coaches.
If you want to consider them shitting on themselves and having a horrible season.

SEC Coach's Hot Seat
I would like to say Tuberville finished with a bowl win and a top 15 team in 2007. He had the second logenst win streak in the Iron Bowl ever. He then had a 5-7 season in 2008 and was fired. I didn't think it was deserved, but many SEC fans did. So yes Saban is still vulnerable definitely since he shite on himself in a BCS bowl to a mid major team.
If we go 5-7 then ok.
BTW, Utah was undefeated...ask USC, Florida, and everyone else how hard that is in any season.
As bad as you want to deny it, LSU would have been blown out of the building against Utah...see how that works?

LSU wasn't carrying the banner as the SEC's elite last year dumb arse. Bama was suppose to be the second best school in the conference and got the shite kicked out of them.
Also LSU looked pretty damn solid in the bowl. I agree LSU would have probably lost, but since we were not the best team in the conference like everyone likes to point out it doesn't matter.

Maybe. But you can go back on the SEC rant before our bowl game, and if you could put GT where Utah is in your sentence, that's exactly what people were saying.

How can you say that? Miles new about Perilloux when he was recruiting him & had no backup plan this totally falls on Miles.

I would say that what Utah did was impressive last season going undefeated. I think there is a very large chance other schools could have done the same with their schedule.

He was in his one month recruiting job during the coach transition. Saban did not recruit a QB the year before. No coach in America would have handled the situation any differently.
Tell me how it should have played out. Do it using the facts that were presented to Miles at the time.

Jarrett Lee would have been a decent backup last season to RP. Most teams like Bama this year don't even go into a season with experienced QBs after losing starters. If you blame Miles for this you are a fool.

The point is that the Utah game was much less of a blemish as some people make it out to be.
The argument that they were not the #2 team in the nation is as valid as the one people use against the 2007 LSU team and their 2 loss championship.

the LSU team from the bama game to the end of the regular season would have.
the one who showed up at the chic-fil-a bowl, no way.

Are you trying to imply that another team played as tough a schedule as LSU and deserved to be the NC?
Also it ain't just the fact that Bama lost it is the fact they had the shite kicked out of them. It was on the level of an OU choke job in a BCS bowl.

Do you also believe that Utah had more talent than Bama? I mean that is what Saban said and it was embarrassing.

If you remember there is a volatile history with Tubberville and AU. One 5-7 season was not enough to get him fired if their relationship had not been so poor he would have gottn a chance at redeeming hisself. No one is on the hotseat aftr this year, miles would have to seriously screw up to be put there. IMO he can lose to Fla, Bama, OM and maybe even GA(not likely). I think all of these teams with the exception of Fla are all toss ups and can easily beat each other. I think with a new def system in place and with a qb who is still somewhat new to place those games as markers for the season is unfair. Most of those games are away as well with a sophmore qb.

No, the implication was that both arguments are worthless and stupid.
Bama lost to the top two teams in the nation...that's the facts. 25-1 combined record
Anyone arguing that the 2007 LSU team was not the best team in the nation is only speculating and living in a dream world. They were the best team in the nation.

Not at all.
Do you believe Arkansas 2007, Kentucky 2007, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, and Ole Miss 2008 had more talent than LSU?

He had an offer from Texas, Miami, and Florida State. Those are big time programs. I have no clue who else Miles could have recruited in a month in 2005. RP had problems, but I don't think another coach handles the situation any differently. I would also guess it was pretty tough to recruit a QB with JR, Flynn, and RP as the depth chart. JL was a good recruit also. I don't think anyone expected him to be so shitty last year; however, I don't think it was Miles' intention to throw him to the wolves.

I really just wanted to poke fun at that Saban comment.
Now I am not saying Utah was not a great team; however, the Bama effort catapulted them into this unbelievable team. The BYU, TCU, and Utah rankings are all built off of each other. The only ranked teams that lost to any of those teams are Bama and Oregon State.
