1) 1998 - LSU Starts the year as a Top 10 team..wins first 3...ends the year losing 7 of last 8!
2) 2002 - UF Starts the year as SEC Favorite and a Top 10 team, despite loss of Spurrier. Ends it with 5 losses and out of the Top 25.

3) 2003 - Auburn Starts the year Top 5 loses first 2 games only scoring 3 points total in the 2 games! Ends year out of Top 25

4) 2000 - UGA Starts the year in the Top 10, has a defense on which EVERY STARTER would eventually be drafted..ends year out of Top 25 and in the damn Hawaii bowl!

5) ????

Edited***
OK, I forgot Bama 2000..unquestionable #1 (Defending SEC Champ, #3 in the nation..only won 3 games)!

LSU last year has got to be on there.

A defending MNC that has a 3-5 conference record is sad and pathetic. Definite top 5.

In 2000 Alabama was the preseason #3 team in America coming off an SEC Championship. Alabama finished the year 3-8.

That puts you at #1, imo! Wow, I'd forgotten that!

It's probably not top 5, but I'd like to throw in the 2005 Vols in there for consideration.

It's funny how your standards of a "disapointing" season can change in such a short period of time... NC or bust... SEC Championship or bust... bowl game or bust... winning record or bust... oh, frick it, just complete a pass!

I think that Bama season would rank in the top 5 of all time catastrophes.

1) Titanic
2) Hindenberg
3) 2000 Alabama Football
4) Clear Pepsi
5) Les Miles

We lost to UCF. Lost to LSU in Baton Rouge. Lost to Auburn in the first game back in Tuscaloosa. We should've gotten beat by Vandy.

Mike Dubose should've been fired after going 4-7 in his first year.

our season last year goes up there. it was pathetic.

98 belongs up high but not as high as last season or bama 2000.

1) 2008 Alabama - first football team to go undefeated in SEC and have absolutely no trophy to show for it.

eh, not in my book. i mean andrew hatch as your starting qb (no offense, guy) and bradley doug mallvetto coordinating the defense i was kinda prepared for a not so great year. they all redeemed themselves with a great performance at the bowl game.
