Phelon has a big challenge ahead. He'll be sitting out and paying his own way to school this year. He's got to improve his conditioning and get stronger. Whether this works out for him or not is all up to him.
But one thing is for sure, if Saban puts Phelon on the field, then he will have earned it.

I don't see him getting much PT at Bama either. He'll have to compete with Burton Scott (5* ATH) and Dre Kirkpatrick (5* CB). I was really surprised that Auburn passed on him.

I really don't get it either.. I think he should have gone to a lesser school if he really wanted playing time..

considering we only signed one db Kirkpatrick, I must be the only Bama fan who thinks this is a good thing. We needed depth and k Jackson reminds me of Hookfin from LSU. He gets beat every time someone throws his way. BJ Scott played WR last year so he is new to the defense, DK hasnt even seen the field yet, so our only hope at Db IMO is Arenas and he is 5'9. If he goes in the first round like someone predicted it will be as a return specialist not as a db. We will destroy the run but our pass D is suspect. Our D line better be as good as projected because if the qb has all day to set up we are toast. There will be NO coverage sacks.
