For 2016-2017. I didn't know that series' could be scheduled that far in advance. Cool though.

Yeah they schedule BCS series way out in advance most of the time. Many teams have games schedule already for the end of the next decade. We have a series with Arizona state scheduled for around then.
Have to think Saban had a say in this with his old school and all.

I didn't take it as a flame....was just waiting on it. I doubt he coaches that long either, but who knows.

IF, he's not retired by then, he'll be pretty close to it probably, that would put him in his mid 60's I think.

Yeah, I believe in 2018 Tennessee plays Ohio St. A lot of teams schedule series way on down the road.

Let's see...eight year contract, started in 2007, theoretically that carries him through the 2014 season. He turns 58 this fall, would be 63 in 2014.
If he hung around 3 more years he'd only be 66 and could play both games. I don't know, I could see it possibly happening. I was kinda expecting him to retire after the eight years, but if you know Saban it would be hard to see that man give up a chance to play against Mich State or give up football in general.

That's a good scheduling pick up. I'd like to go back to playing 1 solid team from another major once a year as well.

I doubt most coaches at their current post will be in the same position nine years from now. Saban will be in his mid-60s by then. Something tells me he hangs it up by then.

Alot of coaches won't be in the same place by that time. Probably won't still have Miles.

This is cool. Kudos to both programs for scheduling this. Michigan State also extended their series with Notre Dame through 2025 so MSU could have one of the nation's toughest schedules in 2016 and 2017.
I'd love to see more SEC and Big Ten matchups during the season.
