they need to look no farther than their current dugout to find their replacement. Your hitting coach is amazing.

btw, we win

Dax Norris has done a great job with the hitters. Alabama struggled offensively for a while before he came to Tuscaloosa in 2007.

I was glad to get Mitch Gaspard back a couple years ago too. He was part of Coach Wells original staff when he first came here. Gaspard was a big part of the World Series teams in the mid 90s. He left for Northwestern State in 2002. I was surprised he came back when he did, but glad to see him back. Hopefully the talent level can continue to rise, and see Alabama put together a pitching staff that rivals the offense that Norris has helped put together.

Wells is a very good coach. Just having a bad run. He will be ok.

Gaspard and Dax Norris have done a great job. Gaspard is the coach in waiting. He needs to get the job.

We've got to recruit better pitchers or coach them better, i.e. Jim Wells. If we just closed out half the games that we lost in late innings due to the bullpen we'd be a top 10 team.

I want Gaspard to get it and I think that's the plan. We need to win some games though.

This was part of Wells retiring and then coming back. We weren't paying assistant coaches. Or not paying them well anyway. In the infamous meeting with Mal and the powers to be Wells went to them trying to get Gaspard back and they weren't going to pony up enough money.

This along with several other broken promises is what led Wells to leave. Ultimately leading to Mal bringing him back when other coaches laughed at Mal when trial balloons were floated for new coaches.

It's well known that we don't take our baseball serious enough. Or not as serious as the LSU, Ole Miss, and Arkansas' of the world.

Improving the facade of the Joe and a number of other things was part of the athletic facility upgrades ealier this decade, but it seems the only thing done was the new score board. I really wish they would just build a new stadium for the baseball program. Mal has put money into soccer, softball, and basketball lately. It just seems like they would do the same for baseball.

If Mitch gets the Bama job, it will continue the trend of former Northwestern State head coaches in the SEC. Counting Mitch, the last 4 NSU coaches are coaching in the SEC right now: Wells at Bama, Van Horn at Arkansas, Cohen at MSU and Mitch at Bama. You would think the Demons would be a baseball dynasty.

Well I hope he has the success that Wells did at Bama, Van Horn at Arky, and Cohen at UK.

He's a good coach and I think he'll take us back up to the next level.
