I was kind of hinting to the fact he was hurt and didn't really a GREAT year last year. He needs t have a complete year of dominating to be mid-high 1st round material.

I was just hinting that NFL scouts and pretty much all major analysts think he's got what it takes, contrary to what you think.

Oh man! You mean his team barely beat an 8-5 team whose already struggling QB had his worst game of the year? STOP THE PRESSES!

Yeah and last year LSU struggled to beat a 7-6 Alabama team that lost to louisiana monroe.

He fits a 3-4 very well

This is why he will be an early first imo.
I still believe the best of Mt. cody is yet to come. As dominant as he was for most of the year, it's only gonna get better.

I think he needs to lose weight.

It didn't seem he was in shape to go every down. He probably doesn't need to necessarily always do this, but he looks like he gets tired too quickly.

He has the ability to clog the middle for the run when he is not tired and in the game. He does not seem to completely control the game from his position. I am just comparing him to the abilities of Dorsey and Ellis.

I think losing weight and showing he could do a little more than just clog the middle on rushing downs will make him a high first rounder. He wasn't even completely effective at dominating the run all the time and that is all he can do at this point.

He is still going to be in the NFL regardless. I do think he is overrated in his current form.

Then why are all the TV analysts and sports writers swinging from his nuts? Take off the purple and gold glasses and acknowledge that teams are not successful running up the middle when he is in. You all saw how he was injured against ole miss. Takes time to come back from that. The first 6 or 7 games of the year he was a beast. If he looses 15 to 20 pounds he'll be playing 3rd down this year.

Mostly a self-imposed struggle. We almost lapped you in total yardage in '07 (475 vs 254) - ouch!

Which is why LSU should have and did win that game. I'm not denying that. LSU beat us fair and square. But they still struggled to beat a 7-6 Bama team that ended up losing to ULM. Just like we struggled to beat an 8-5 LSU team this year. We both struggled. But we both still won and that's all that matters.

When has Dorsey made excuses about gtting blocked by someone 100 lbs lighter than him?

Dorsey was a better DL than anyone that's ever played at Bama.

I am always amazed by teams that have a great player like Cody constantly want the competition to admit that he is a great player. The fact that other teams have to game plan for him ought to be all the validation you need. I guess its all about mine is bigger than yours syndrome.

FAIL! Look at the post just above my previous one:

Ever been amazed by teams that had players like Dorsey...?

Hypocrisy at its finest.

Derrick Thomas. Better college and pro player, just to name one.

Tragedy that he died early and yes a great player.

Three responses: 1) Derrick Thomas was a LB, Dorsey (and Cody) are DL - the earlier premise was that Dorsey was a better DL than anyone who's ever played for Bama (I go back to the early 70's so I'm aware of John Mitchell, Baumhower (sp?), Lyons, Lyles, etc.), 2) Derrick Thomas wasn't as decorated of a college player as was Dorsey, 3) It's probably unfair to compare NFL careers since Dorsey has only been in the NFL for one season and Thomas played how many years? 10?

Dorsey won the following awards as a senior – Lombardi, Outland, Nagurski, and Lott Trophies; not to mention All-American teams, etc. Has Bama ever had an individual DL win all these (granted some may be more recent) or there equal?
