Ohio State will try to challenge Georgia's all-time record of 15 selections in a single draft later this week with a group loaded with elite prospects, including two-time All-American safety Caleb Downs and All-Big Ten linebacker Sonny Styles.

In the modern era, a handful of programs from the SEC and Big Ten have produced more draft picks than most. Here's a look at the most impressive draft classes by school:

1. Georgia 2022 (15 selections)
First-rounders: Travon Walker, Jordan Davis, Quay Walker, Devonte Wyatt, Lewis Cine

2. LSU 2020 (14 selections)
First-rounders: Joe Burrow, K'Lavon Chaisson, Justin Jefferson, Patrick Queen, Clyde Edwards-Helaire

3. Ohio State 2025 (14 selections)
First-rounders: Emeka Egbuka, Donovan Jackson, Tyliek Williams, Josh Simmons

4. Ohio State 2016 (12 selections)
First-rounders: Joey Bosa, Ezekiel Elliott, Eli Apple, Taylor Decker, Darron Lee

5. Alabama 2021 (10 selections)
First-rounders: Jaylen Waddle, Patrick Surtain II, DeVonta Smith, Mac Jones, Alex Leatherwood, Najee Harris

6. Georgia 2025 (13 selections)
7. Alabama 2018 (12 selections)
8. Ohio State 2004 (14 selections)
9. Miami 2004 (9 selections)
10. Texas 2025 (12 selections)

Joe embarrassed both of them on the same play (multiple times)

I am glad somebody colorized that old archival footage. It gives us a window into what football was like in a previous era.

Meanwhile, Alabama's most recent championship was won the following season.

I was curious how neither Alabama nor LSU made the list after their 2011 seasons?

Each team had 9 in 2012 and 2013; Alabama had 4 first-rounders in 2012 but neither got up to 5 like the ones at the top of the list.

More interesting, though...

Teams that had a championship the year before:
Georgia 2022, LSU 2020, Ohio State 2016, Alabama 2021, Alabama 2018

Teams that failed to win a national championship with the talent:
Ohio State 2025, Georgia 2025, Ohio State 2004, Miami 2004, Texas 2025

If only someone could do it for Alabamas last title, which was a couple of years before ours.

Am I not seeing things correctly? Georgia has the #1 ranking but you said LSU and OSU leads the way?

What am I missing?

Not exactly true. Ohio State won the 2002 national championship with a bunch of underclassmen that were part of that 2004 draft class. Ohio State also won in 2024 with a bunch of players that would be part of the 2025 draft class.

All that talent just to win the same amount of playoff games as Ole Miss this past year.

What I love about the dipshit LSU fans who keep screaming, “2020 doesn’t count!!!” is they don’t realize that they do more to remind everyone of Alabama’s 2020 national title than anyone.

That wasn't a real season.

Winning in empty stadiums with a smaller schedule. Not legitimate.

I'm not screaming. It's just not a real season. We talk about things like SEC football on the SEC rant

Yeah, I don't really get it either, but it's the title of the actual article.

Wow! I thought you were trolling Georgia, honestly. They must have let AI do the title.
