Former bench warmer being a bitch
Funny how Downs never shared these sentiments. It's the guys who underwhelmed or never saw the field talking shite.

what is with all these ex players just bashing Bama at any moment? Or why is it that journalists keep asking them these questions?

Funny how he doesn’t mention he hasn’t done jack shite his entire career. He had a lot of promise but so far he hasn’t done much.

Why is he talking about Alabama when he's been at Florida State the last two years?

Lately, we don’t look like we compete in the weight room at the LOS. However, Earl was here in a different regime. Sounds like he’s just being a bitch.

Who knows ? Some hack journalists probably saw an opportunity goad a moron into providing some clickbait. I'll admit that losing Downs ticked me off at the time, but I think Ohio St is going to be sorely disappointed with Russaw, Smith & this schmuck.

Because Alabama has been the standard for the majority of their careers. They want to know what the ingredients were, and to hear that they're better at the school they support. It's just a version of confirmation bias. They know the kid their asking on their team now is going to say "it's better here" and they get to feel all warm and fuzzy and generate conversation

I don't know but if I were a coach, I'd sure use it as motivation.

Maybe HE didn’t compete in the weight room which is just another reason he couldn’t get on the field.

Translation: at Ohio State, we compete for the heaviest bag.

Not saying money didn’t play a factor for his decision but Downs still likes Bama. I remember going all RTR for Bama against Indiana. Was a no brainer for him
Many of the rest of these guys are/were purely chasing the bag which is understandable to some extent but they have no love for the program

There’s probably truth to their having a chip on their shoulder against Bama for not winning a starting job and it’s likely true we aren’t as nasty as we used to be based on results.
We aren’t 2015 Bama, but no one else is either.
Most of these guys although talented weren’t good enough to win spots here outside of Downs and Smith and I don’t think it’s a coincidence that OSU is collecting former Bama guys and getting them to talk negatively about us.
I also have no idea what was happening in the locker room in the late Saban/Milroe era so I’m not going to attack them too much because I’m not convinced we still had our fastball at that point.
