God bless Muss for revitalizing this program and
to Cal for keeping the gravy train rolling. Feels like it's only a matter of time before we put an elite squad together and make a serious run at this thing.
Don't think we get by Arizona but I'm not hating this consistency.

This is why it pissed me off to hear the talking heads dog on Arkansas when Cal came to Fayetteville. Like we were a scrub team who didn’t just have back to back elite 8 runs

Been a fun ride
Nice that our former players for Muss still cheer for the hogs & not USC, unlike some former big blue players

Would just tank all his momentum that he's got going.

Yeah... road may end with AZ, but I'm ecstatic about how the seaon progressed.
With this finish and the class already lined up, our championship run is probably next year.
Having said that, Acuff is the kind of player that can impose his will on a game. If anyone can get us past AZ, it would be him.

And nothing to show for it!
Isn't that how it's supposed to go, Rant?

These Hogs got sent to Portland, Oregon. Two hours difference.
Then game two, they had to toss and turn all day in hotel beds waiting for the fricking game that might as well had been midnight.
And they're still standing, with some good rest coming, and feeling good today watching others try and make the Sweet 16
These are special kids

Hogs rising. Good for basketball.

That is very impressive. Some very good teams again this year.
With the Texas upset of Gonzaga yesterday, it’s setting up to be a great finish for someone.

How many Elite Eight teams? Honest question, not sure.

They made the Elite 8 in 2021 and 2022, but lost both.

Our second in four years, but the 9th for our coach. Our AD hired another good one.

I wouldn't sweat it too much. Sports media isn't really any better than the "fake news" media in general when it comes to pushing certain narratives.
Anyone who follows college basketball closely realizes Arkansas is among the Top 25 basketball programs all time in nearly every metric. Yes it does get old when the media overlooks the fact that the team your coach left one of the blueblood programs for literally just went to two Elite 8s just prior to the hiring but that's the media doing what the media does.
The media was even worse with Alabama football when we hired Saban. You would have thought Saban was leaving the greatest NFL dynasty ever for the equivalent of Tulane or Southern Miss football the way the media described the move. Nevermind the fact that every football coach with a pulse that ever coached at Alabama more than 3 seasons has had at least one 10 win season coaching there. There were many butthurt sports commentators at the time of the Saban hire actually trying to make the argument that Alabama was no better than an 8-4 program at the time and that Saban would be fortunate to win one national title at Alabama. Yet Saban goes on to win 11 or more games in 15 of his 17 seasons in Tuscaloosa not to mention 6 national titles, 9 SEC titles, and 3 national runner up (#2) finishes in his last 15 seasons there. Yet some of the same doubters in the media when Saban was hired have never acknowledged how wrong they got it.
Ironically, Alabama basketball...like Arkansas basketball...is also going for its 5th Sweet 16 in the last 6 seasons. Going to be a tough task without Hollaway against a very good Texas Tech team that's very good defensively and is also very efficient on offense.
