It's definitely shite on Georgia basketball day on The Rant. Rival fans are trying to brand 1996 as the new 1980, even though 1996 is a technicality and it should be 2002, which is the only somewhat annoying part of the trash talk.

I can say with completely honesty that 1996 hits home by a fraction of a decimal as much as 1980 used to. Killing off 1980 for good was one of the sweetest parts of the Ringo pick 6, and between that and going back to back in 2022 I am still comforably numb. Let them waste their time talking their shite lol.

1980 was rough

Nothing really to come back with. All major rivals had one at least one since 1980.

Couldn't care less about bball trash talk, though it just adds to the embarrassment that we are the only team that lost so far. We still have that final 4 appearance that eludes better programs like Tennessee that we can counter troll with

1980 was hard to swallow, especially after 2012.

At this point, can we just scrap basketball and give the money to football? There shouldn’t be too much blow back.

Don't care, Basketball is a weird sport and Kentucky, Arkansas, and Florida seem to be the only half way consistent teams..... Even they struggle.

I have accepted the fact that we have earned the title: One & Done in all 3 major sports.

For one, people are being overly emotional after a bad loss when the program is more competitive than it has been for decades.

The trash talk doesn't bother me.

Stegman should be reverted to a livestock arena. It served a better purpose then.

Truly is amazing the Flag Ship for the State of Georgia in Atlanta's GMA sucks so bad at Basketball. It's systemic at this point. The Herrick Curse is real as rain.

No way small private schools and rural hillbilly school should be able to thump us.

Appears nothing has been addressed from the other nights Dumpster Fire.

While we're at it, we should bring back the NIT banners that used to hang avove the stage.. Those were always intimidating to opponents..

Honestly our basketball program has been so bad for so long it really doesnt bother me. Yes that loss pissed me off but I've watched for years of us just be so awful. We have a lot of talent on this current team and they are very young. If these guys all returned next year then I will be excited again. Im not sure how excited I will be with White but I would like to see this group with another year together.

We won over 20 and made the tourney. I think those were the primary goals for the season. The season ended badly, but can’t take away from the body of work.

I honestly wish I liked or cared about basketball. Feels like everyone is having so much fun with marchmadness every year and I’m just over here counting down to SEC media days in July.

Apparently 3 people didn’t like that we won over 20 games and made it to the tourney this season.

The St. Louis game was shockingly bad, man. We were the betting favorite. We were losing 65-32 early in the second half. That's like losing 42-0 in the third quarter in football. Last year were were losing to Gonzaga 56-34 early in the second half. That's like losing 35-0 in the third quarter in football.

It's not being a prisoner of the moment to be really concerned about the program and pissed off at the coach.

Exactly. I was happy to see the progress… but felt empty after the St. Louis game. Even White himself acknowledged he felt a ton of progress was lost after that game. Hopefully we’re able to dust it off and retain the core. If we have a mass exodus, we could be back to square one. We don’t even have a basketball commit thus far. The next 90 days are gonna be very important towards the future of the program.
