Not saying I want to get rid of Oats but if he ever leaves Pettway has got to be the next coach.

He needs more success before we do that.

What's wild is how Kennesaw is giving them a helluva game, but they're shooting like shite . He's got a 14 seed bodying up a team that pushed us around and embarrassed us.

Pettway would not be my first choice if Hogdson is available

There's a few college jobs i think he would take when the coaches retire/get fired. He could also leave for NBA.
Id guess sooner than later, but maybe we get lucky. At any rate we have to get something figured out on the defensive side.

I love Pett, but he made the tournament as a HC for the first time and didn't win. Now given they played well against Gonzaga, that isn't exactly equivalent to what Oats did at Buffalo prior to coming here. He needs more time to prove himself.

I want Oats to be our basketball coach forever. We struck gold by hiring Oats.

Wish we'd just go ahead and give him a lifetime contract. Hate holding my breath every offseason.

I’ll trust Greg Byrne to perform a search and hire the best candidate, regardless of their affiliation to the University

Oats could have went to Kentucky...the bluest of the blue bloods...but didn't.

Yeah, Greg is a good one. Found Oats, plucked a sitting football coach coming off an NC appearance. Dude knows what he’s doing.

he supposedly already turned down the Syracuse job, and USF was working on a big upgraded contract, like St Louis did with their coach.

Hodgson is our first choice if Oats ever leaves, Pett is plan B at this time. He’s doing very well for himself but he needs a little more seasoning.

Hodgson to Providence

Hodgson is on a really fast track to have a bigger than Bama job by the time Oats is ready to leave T-town.
