I noticed this is some of his highlights prior to today’s practice but Byrum has a weird arse throwing motion

Yea, that has always been a knock on him. It is almost a bit like Byron Leftwich's throwing motion.

It is an odd motion, but not an issue at the college level. If he wants to be more prototypical NFL QB he has to address it though.

Why is that? I assume the defensive backs are quicker to react? DL able to batt it down easier? Etc?

Yep. Same reason they tried to fix Tebow s throwing motion, which frankly is pretty similar here too. Have to get the ball out quick and compact.

Yezzir. I think it does have to do with taking a little longer to get the ball out which allows both the rush to have extra time to get to the QB and for DBs to see the motion start and break on a pass.

Tim Had a week arm (AND) a funky throwing motion. Byrum However just has a weird throwing motion matched with a strong arm. Byrum also struggles with deep ball accuracy at times, but I've also seen him throw the ball on a frozen rope. I think it's footwork and mechanics. He is what he is..... an elite athlete, great leader, and winner with a strange release. I think we go 8-5(That's a good thing). Hope I'm wrong and he pushes us to 9-3 10-2.

I have zero expectations for anyone on the team or the team in general. I’m gonna just try to enjoy the season without them. I do however want to see game plans with purpose, a clear indication of attention to detail from both players and coaches, and play like we want to win and not playing like we are trying not to lose

It is a job now, a high paying one, it should be treated as such.
Golesh had a walk through on how to practice before the first practice. I like it, I like it a lot.
